The sun was unusually bright today. Being that it was the middle of July. The streets were crowded with the usual hustle and bustle that was brought along during the summer. And driving in silence down the road was the team of 55-David consiting of Faith Mitchell and Maurice "Bosco" Boscorelli. "Hey how ya holdin up Faith?" Bosco asked gently. He knew that the past few months had been hard on her. With the divorce and Emily wanting to live with her father. She was signing up for double shifts whenever they were avaliable and spent all of her time either at the station or couped up in her apartment not talking to anyone. He was getting worried due to the dramatic loss of weight that his partner has suddenly had. "I'm alright I guess." She relplied stifling a yawn. "Come on Faith, please tell me what is wrong, you never talk anymore, I miss the conversations that we used to have. You know you can talk to me, why dont we take our dinner break now and you can talk to me." Bosco suggested while pulling the car over. "I'm not hungry Bos." Faith answered not looking at him. "Come on Faith, please do this for me, you havent much in a while and I am getting worried about you. Your my best friend and you've got something on your mind, its my job to worry about you." Bosco said flashing his million dollar smile. Faith slowly turned her head towards him. Her face wet with tears and her eyes filled with those yet to be shed. Bosco could see she was hurting badly and wanted so badly for her to let him in. He reached up slowly, afraid she would pull away, but when she didnt he continued and wiped a tear of her cheek. "Alright Bos, I'll go with you." She whispered, barely audible. "55-David requesting to go 10-63" Bosco said into his radio not taking his eyes of Faith. "Request approved David." replied the dispatcher. Already knowing her answer Bosco pulled the car into drive and tried to figure out where they wanted to eat. He wanted someplace quiet so that they could talk in private, then he found it. A quaint little bistro. Only one other couple occupied the place and for that Bosco was glad. They walked in, Faith slowly draging behind Bosco. They sat down at a booth by the side window and sat down across from each other. Bosco was about to open his mouth to say somethingwhen a perky little girl no more than nineteen came up to them. "What can i getcha?" She asked. "I'll just have a coke." replied Bosco. "And you officer?" She asked Faith. Faith didnt reply. "Faith, Faith?" Bosco called. Being drawn out of her thoughts Faith shook her head and replied." I'll just have a glass of water thanks." "Be right back." replied the far to perky girl as she ran off to fill the orders. "Alright Faith, spill it, you said that you would come here to talk so now we are going to talk." Bosco said as he placed a hand on top of Faith shaking one. "Bos......." Faith started quietly. "HERE YA GO OFFICERS!!!!" said the girl who was back. "Anything to eat!?" She asked cheerily. "No thanks were good." Bosco said still searching Faith's face for any sign of what she might be feeling but came up eptmy handed. "What were you going to say Faith." He asked gingerly as he took his index finger and lifted her face to meet his gaze. Not wanting too, but finally giving in she looked up, but insted of seeing concern in his eyes, she saw fear. "Bosco, I............." Faith said as she was cut off by a bone chilling scream. The sounds of crashing metal and glass breaking everywhere filled the small room. Screams filled the air and the smell of smoke and burning rubber filled it aswell It all happened in the blink of an eye, the last thing Bosco saw was an unconisous Faith infront of him, pinned between the chair and table with a car right behind her and a large amount of cuts and bruises. With his last ounce of strength, Bosco reached up and felt her wrist for a pulse, it was there, but very weak. And that when the darkness took over him too. *********************************************** Sorry its so short but what do you all think, should I continue? I want to see if people actually like it before I continue.
