She's Gone


turned over in his bed. He wasn't sleeping well, he didn�t know why. He took a drink from the bottle that say on his bedside table 
and tried to get back to sleep. "Hey mate, time to get up c'mon!"shouted from's bedroom door.looked up to see 
's face slowly disappearing from the doorframe. "Hey, why so early?"looked confused as he caught a glimpse of the clock. 
There was no answer. He sighed and began to get dressed. ", hurry up man, you're not the only on who gotta get up y'know!" 
"Hey I have been waiting for like, an hour to get in there. Anyways I�ve finished now." "Are you sure you were waiting an hour, not just 
taking an hour!" He laughed asopened the bathroom door.smirked and walked past Duncan to the stairs. "Oh, do u 
know why's getting everyone up at 5:30 am?" "Yeah were picking Kathleen up from the airport, would of thought you'd remember 
that!" He continued down the stairs. "Oh crap!"whispered to himself, rushing into the bathroom to get ready.was from 
America; her band had supported Blue on one of their tours about 2 years ago. She was only small, about 5.5 but she had brown hair with 
blonde ends, she also had a tongue piercing. When she went to college her band had kinda split up and went their own ways. Whenever she 
had time off college the guys would fly her over to where ever they were so they could see her. 

This visit was different though, this visit was special, not only was it the time of her 21st birthday, but she had finished college earlier in the 
year, this visit she wasn't going back.got ready so fast that his trousers were still unbuttoned and he hadn't got round to spiking 
his hair up. He ran downstairs. "Yay he's up, bout time!"laughed, hugging his mate. "Why didn't anyone remind me?" "We thought 
you'd remember replied Simon!" "Its not like you ever forgot anything when it comes to" he continued which made 
blush, they all know thathad a soft spot for, thankfully she'd not noticed it. They all ate and jumped into the car. 
"I'M DRIVING" Shouted, trying to get into the drivers seat. "Erm don't think so, you drive like an old woman." They all laughed 
and Johnny jumped into the drivers' seat instead. "I hate traffic! Hurry up we're late already. Her plane landed at 6:30 am." 

screamed at the car in front "HURRY UP ALREADY" They were stuck in traffic for about 15 minutes. When they finally arrived at 
the airport,was asleep in the waiting area. "Hey kk, time to get up"andsaid together, shaking her awake. She moaned 
and began to get up. "I thought you'd forgotten about me" she giggled awkwardly. All the guys looked atand sniggered. "Hey can 
we go home already. I got serious jetlag" she said picking up her bags.'s phone began to ring. "Hello, yeah mum she's right here" 
He passed the phone to, "Hey Mrs, yeah I a mood really tired, but i'm good. Yeah ok yep, yeah I will come over and see you 
soon, yeah love you too, bye" She handed the phone back to Duncan and gave him a hug. "God, I�ve missed you guys" She went round and 
hugged them all. "Its been too long" said Johnny. They all helped her with her stuff and packed it into the car. The whole journey was spent 
asking about her flight and how things were back at home, she didn't answer much because she was too tried to think properly but she tried 
her best to stay awake.

had bought a house right across the road from the house that the band shared, she was thinking of extending it so she could have 
a music room to keep her guitar and other stuff in, maybe somewhere the guys could practise in as well. She got out of the car and went 
straight into the guy's house, her stuff wasn't unpacked yet so she was spending a day or two at theirs. "She's so tired, poor girl" 
laughed. "Yeah I know, so we gonna leave her to sleep or what?"asked picking up some of's bags and transporting them 
into her new home. "Yeah just leave her. So we gonna go sort out some of her stuff for her? That way we wont be bothering her." 
shouted to the rest of the band. "Yeah" They all replied. They continued to put her bags into the house and then started to sort out 
some of her furniture. "Where we gonna put the sofa?"houted from the living room. "There's no space for the cooker guys" This 
voice was's coming from the kitchen. "Why is there no space for anything? She has about 10 pieces of furniture but there's still no 
space!!"sounded annoyed. 

"Erm where's?" Johnny enquired. They all looked at each other and shrugged.smirked, "Try the house" They all smiled. About 
45 minutes laterwalked in the door. "So what were you looking for? Did you find it?"gave him a knowing look.smiled. 
"We've got most things sorted, just need her to unpack her stuff"said, walking up behind them both. "Yeah but we're gonna have 
to take her shopping or something because she's barely got anything.threw down the last box of stuff he had. "Well then I guess we 
just sit around for a bit and let her sleep" Johnny replied. "Oh she�s up; she woke up about 1/2 an hour ago. That�s why I was gone for so 
long. Anyway she got a surprise for you all so we should get back over there." "Surprise. Am I going to like this?"  giggled heading 
for the door. As they got back across the road,appeared at the door. 

"Yay, my favourite people!" She smiled. They walked in to find their table full of little presents and letters from people back in America. 
noticed one in the middle of the table and picked it up. "Its from Terry and Janet. 'Take care of our daughter!'" he burst out laughing, 
followed by the rest of the guys, including. "Well mum and dad were always protective"hugged her, while laughing. 
"Everything else is from friends. You know, people wanting you to listen to demos, random girls buying you underwear, the usual. Its funny. 
Most of the people that gave me all that I�ve never spoken to in my life" "Yeah people only want to know you because of them!" Johnny 
laughed,made a hurt look but then started laughing again. 

After they had looked through everything that had been sent along with their best friend,decided to go across to sort out her 
clothes and stuff at her home. She walked over the road "" She swung around in the middle of the road and looked up. "You 
not staying for something to eat?"walked up to her. "Nah, i'm going to sort out my stuff for a bit. I'll be over in a bit though. 
I'll get something then before I go to sleep" She smiled at him and brought her arms up to hug him. He kissed her on the cheek and turned 
around to walk back to the house. She carried on walking up the drive and past her car to her new house; she turned around to look at the 
guy's house and smiled. She could see them walking around the house through the front window, she let out a small giggle of excitement. 
walked into the house and admired the work that everyone had done while she�s was asleep and then ran upstairs to unpack and 
get settled in.

A bit later the pone rang and just astan to pick it up, she heard someone already talking. She stood and listened with her hand 
over the mouthpiece. "Yeah Mrs, I don't think so I just got over here" It was Mrsagain, from whatcould tellhad 
just come over but got to the phone slightly before she did. "What about? Is he going to tell her or what?" Mrscontinued. 
"He won't. he refuses to tell her. He say's there's too much in the way, too much to lose" "Is she in love with him?" "I don't know. She's 
never said so, but you know, she's as stubborn as he is" They both let out a giggle.put the phone down carefully and 
sat on the edge of the bed. "...why wouldn't he say..? How could they not tell me..." She looked confused "How could they not 
know how much I like...? 

". Its Mrs, she wants to talk to you"shouted up the stairs.picked up the phone again. "Hey Mrs, i'm 
sorry I didn't get round to coming to see you"started to walk up the stairs. "Oh its ok dear. I wasn't expecting you today anyway. I'd 
thought you'd have too much work on your hands."walked in, smiled at her and collapsed onto the bed. "Yeah, well I�ve not got as 
much to do as I was expecting. while I was sleeping they unpacked most of my stuff for me and the plumber and everything are coming 
tomorrow." She knelt on the bed withand gave him an evil look. He looked at her confused. "Oh..good. just checking you were ok 
and my son and his friends are looking after you." "Yeah I am fine andand that have been great." She hitsoftly in the leg. 
"Aww" he mouthed while trying to push her off the bed. "Well I�ll leave you to unpack or whatever its pretty late anyway. You look after 
yourself and all the others." 

giggled. "Yeah you tooand don't worry I�ll look after them for you. Talk to you soon. Goodbye." Mrsput the phone 
down;just let hers drop to the ground. "How could you not tell me?" She shouted, hittingin leg again. "Aww" he said again. 
"Tell you what? What you on about?" She sat back down on her legs. "About!!!" Lee just looked at her and after a while he broke 
the silence. "I thought you'd figure it out, we've known you for over 2 years and he�s been in love with you for that long. He didn't want 
you to know, he said that he didn't want to lose you. He didn't want things to get weird and then we all lose you, plus he thinks you love 
me. 

smiled and hugged him. "I do love you, but i'm IN love with." She looked saddened. "Well then K. You need to go over 
there and tell him. He�s too scared to make the 1st move" He got up and kissed he on the forehead and then headed for the door. "Oh what 
did you come over for?" She enquired. He looked confused but them remembered why he'd come over in the 1st place. "Oh yeah, there's 
some salad and cheese pizza over at the house for you. We ordered it earlier thenmade a salad to go with it." "Cool. Just wait a 
second and I�ll come over with you." He sat back down on the bed aslooked around for some different clothes to change into. 
They both walked over the street and into the house. As they walked inandwere bringing down the inflatable bed and 
covers down. "He He... my bed's nearly made." She giggled. "No that�s my bed. You're taking my room tonight." said walking in 
from the garage. "No i'm not." She retorted. "Yeah we had a draw,got the honour.said giving her a welcome hug. "I 
don't care. I always sleep down here next to the fire. No one is leaving their room."

"You're staying in my room. It's your last night so we want you to be comfy."continued. "The blow up is comfy and unless your 
thinking of kicking me out, i'm still going to be staying every so often and I don't care what you all decided, no one is being kicked out of 
their room."was beginning to get annoyed. "Wow ok ok. Calm down girl."leaned over and kissed her cheek again like he 
did so often. "You can have the blow up bed. I'm not complaining."looked up atand smiled. "Good good. Now where's 
my food?" she looked around.leaned over and whispered in her ear, "You have to tell him, you two belong together" he said to her. "I 
will give me time." She looked up at him and they nodded at each other. "Right food time for you Miss."said as him andstarted 
putting it out for her. By the time she had finished eating;andhad gone to bed. 

"Right guys, its s12:30 am and i'm real tired so... I love you but get the hell out of my room so that I can go to sleep." She hugged them 
both goodnight and followed them upstairs to go to the bathroom. On her way back down stairs, she popped her head round to check on 
each of the guys. She stood and watchedand just smiled before going back downstairs and into her bed for the night. As she got 
comfy and began to doze off, she took a look at the clock on the wall above the fire. "This is stupid." She said to herself. As she did, she got 
up out of bed and walked upstairs. She walked across the landing and into's room. He was awake. "Hey, what�s up? are you ok?" She 
ignored him and walked to the other side of the bed. "Hey are you ok??" He looked concerned, she got into the bed beside him. "I am now." 
She smiled at him... They both leaned in and kissed.

"Dude, do you know how much I love that girl? I know we've only been going out for a week but I really do love her" sat on the 
couch.stared at a photo of the group andand realized just how much he loved her too. How can I tellthat I love 
too? Why didn't I realize it sooner? I've got to tell him. ", you ok? Your really quiet today, something bothering you, you 
know you can always tell me no matter what it is.." Why didn't I realize my feelings before? I'm such an a$$, my feelings could ruin 
everything now, I can't tell. I can't. "! get up here now I need you!"'s eyes followedas he practically flew up 
the stairs aswas shouting. he became over-run with guilt. How can I look either of them in the face again, one is my best mate 
and the other is HIS girlfriend. "Good morning Mr Gloomy, what�s with the long face?"stood covered only by a towel in front of 
's eyes. His cheeks burned and he longed to say three very important words to her, but he could only say them when he was alone, and 
not with her. 

He longed to hold her closely in his arms and gently kiss her soft pink lips. He knew that it was only a fantasy and he would never in a million 
years get the chance to tell her how he truly felt. "Hello???"waved in front of's fixated eyes. "Earth to? Anyone there?" I 
cant stand this anymore, I have to get our of here...grabbed his keys and slammed the door behind him,heard the care engine 
roar and the tyres screech assped away. 

"!?"was worried, "!" "Hey!! what�s with all the shouting? Some of us are trying to watch TV!"rubbed his 
eyes and walked towards. He hugged her, "What's up? You look a little pale?" "Something�s not right with, I said 
good morning to him and he was like a zombie, he wasn't talking to me, then all of a sudden he grabbed his keys and sped off in his car." 
tried to reassurethatwas probably just in a bad mood and that he probably has just gone for a drive to clear his head. I 
hope he hasn't done anything stupid. I wonder what�s wrong with him, he seemed fine yesterday. I wonder if I�ve done anything to upset 
him?finally managed to persuadethat Lee would be back soon and that he was just in a bad mood, he'd toldthat 
he'd probably just gone to his mothers. 

bounced down the stairs, "Hey baby, what�s up?" He wrapped his arms around, she shrugged them off. His heart sank. 
What have I don�t wrong? He wandered into the kitchen and found,and Johnny huddled together talking in low muffled 
voices. "Guys do you know what's wrong with?" Joel looked at each of them before sighing, "What can I have done wrong? She 
was fine half an hour ago!stepped over to the doorway wherewas standing.

"Dude, don't worry! You know she loves you, she's just worried aboutthat�s all, he's been off all week, even you said he's been quiet, 
he's gone for a drive,thinks she's upset him somehow." I wonder why she thinks that? Have I missed something? "Babe, i'm going 
to get, I know where he'll be after all, being' best mates I know his hideouts!!"said. I bet he doesn�t know about the time that 
took me down to the lake last summer. I think it was whileand the guys were deciding on taking Johnny on.. I can remember 
me andbeing bored, so he said he had a surprise for me, I had no idea where we were going. He put me in the car, I can remember the 
excitement in his eyes, I�ve never see them like that before, usually full of pain and anguish, but not that night, they had a different look to 
them. 

When he took my hand and got me out of the car, I looked around at the beautiful pier, we walked towards the end, we stopped and looked 
at each other, as I thought we were going to kiss, but instead he pushed me into the lake.... "are you there?...earth to? 
I'm gonna find, that okay?"looked her in the eyes, she had glazed look, he flicked her ear in an attempt to bring her round. 
What is it with people today?shuddered, " I know wherewill be...trust me, i'm the only one who knows about this 
place" She looked at, he looked hurt, "Baby, if you love me you'll let me go.....I know exactly where he'll be." 

pushed his car keys into her hand, "if you care so much, you go find him then..." and with that he stormed off upstairs. 
felt bad, but she grabbed her jacket, shouted bye to,and Johnny and slammed the door. She couldn't stop thinking about 
...and as she was driving she couldn't think about anything else but the night last summer, where she andkissed under the stars.... 

"Well that wasn't good..." Johnny tried to eagerly to break the un-easy silence of the house. "I hate it when people do that, they argue 
about the most stupid things in the world. it�s not as isandhave anything to hide..."andlooked at each 
other, they tried to laugh of Johnny's lasts remark, but their lame attempts failed. "I don't understand...what's happening between 
and?" "Dud its a long complicated story....you don't wanna hear it"rested his head in his hands. "I do wanna hear this.....
i'm confused!" "Okay. it all started last summer. 

We were on summer vacation, and we were deciding on security, so when we spent the day with you, to find out if you could be the one 
we needed, did you noticewasn't there? Well...he was back here with, someone had to stay and take care of her, and we 
nominatedto stay behind and look after the house and clean! It was a bad idea... the 1st day we were away they were bored, sotook 
her for a drive, we all know thatandboth likeALOT! It must be a best mate thing they have! anyways......rang 
me up and told me to askif it was ok to takeout. And what didsay to that? Johnny asked while shuffingling 
in his seat.

"looked a little hurt, but he had a quiet talk withon the phone which ended up in a huge argument!slammed the 
phone down on, the last thing we all heard him say was "Do what you want, I don�t care anymore" and for the whole week we spent 
away,wouldn't talk toon the phone or answer any e-mails he sent to him, so when we finally got home, I had to take 
out and find out what happened we he tookout.. It turns out she andwent to a lake, it had a pier, as they walked to the 
end of it, he pushed her into the water, the play fought for a bit and eventually they kissed but they both agreed nothing would ever 
come of it."told Johnny. 

"Whoa! sodoesn't know? Oh my god!" Johnny looked shocked. Why didn't I tell her I loved her last summer? I've always known 
really that I loved her, but why is it now that I want her so badly?saw's car pull up, oh great this is all I need,'s gonna 
wanna know what's up, I can't tell him... Instead ofetting out of his car, it was....,! WHERE ARE YOU? WE NEED 
TO TALK!!!was shouting at the top of her voice,could see her face wet with tears. ", i'm here...what's wrong?

something stupid, you've not been yourself lately, what's wrong? 

looked down at his mucky black trainers... "You wouldn't understand" "Try me, I�ve been your friend now for 3 years, I should know 
how to help you!" "THAT'S EXACTLY IT!!! We've been friends, can you remember that night last summer when we kissed? I haven't felt 
the same way about you since then, you are beautiful and I do love you..."felt her heart beat faster and faster.. "I loved you from 
the moment I looked at you Lee, but I made myself stop loving you. I was sure you didn't feel the same...I think I should go.." "wait, don't 
go yet.."looked into her eyes, he gently touched her cheek and kissed her softly on the lips. "Do you know how long I�ve waited to do 
that again? A whole year!"expected a sarcastic reply, but insteadpulled out her car keys and ran to her car. 

"I have to think, I can't do this to you and, it's not fair on you." She opened her car door and got in, he heard 'Hold On' begin 
to bang out of the stereo. he watched in awe as she drove away, oh my god! What have I don�t? What if she has an accident? She's going 
too fast.. A million and one thoughts were whizzing through's head. Then her heard the sounds of distance tyre screeching, and a huge 
bang. 

"NOOOO..."

beep....beep...beep... The steady sound of's heart monitor beeped. ", hold on...you cant leave me behind, not yet...I love 
you.." Tears streamed down's face, his hands shook with the fear that any moment god could take away the only girl he'd ever love. 
aced backwards and forwards on the tiled floor. "Dude, were all worried, but your gonna make a groove in the floor.."tried to 
lighten the mood. "Do you think I should go in?" "He pressed his face against the window, hoping to catch, what could be the last look at 
's beautiful face, he choked back tears when he saw all the tubes attached to her. 

"I wouldn't go in just yet, lethave his time with her, it might be his last." "Don't say that, she isn't going to die, she can't...I...I 
lover her." Tears rolled down his face. "If she dies its all my fault, if I�d told her how I felt earlier this might not have happened." ", fate is 
fate, its god will when you die, if this was meant to be, it will be." ", I can't imagine a world without you, you can't die, not now." 
turned and saw how worriedlooked. At this very moment I hate him, but I love him as well, I can't bare to see him like this, I 
know he is in love with, but he�s my best mate and I love him too...reached for the door, he looked back at, she 
hadn't moved all night. ", I think you should come in here"looked atand realized how much he actually needed his best 
mate and his friends right now. 

"How is she?"could seeshaking. "She's not good, they don�t think she'll make it through the night,she has to, I can't live 
without her.."tightened his grip on her hand,took hold of's other hand, she stirred. "OH MY GOD, SHE'S WAKING 
UP!"couldn't contain his joy. "Mmned..hmpph..where am I?"'s eyelashes fluttered, the light hurt her eyes. ".... 
is that you?" "yes its us.."looked atand smiled. "Guys can you do me something?.." "yes anything you want" "Make up with 
each other, for my sake, I wont be around much longer" "Yes you will, don't say that, nothing can separate me and, we�re like brothers, 
and no matter what happens, we'll always be together"looked up at, "can you get the guys in here? and can you put my 
favourite song on?" "For you sweetheart, anything"opened the door and ushered,and Johnny in.fumbled with his 
ipod, he attached it to one of the speakers in's room, the slow eerie sounds of 'lullaby' filled the room "Thank you..i have 
something to say, I know i'm not going to be here much longer, I wanted you all to know that I love you, especially you two... 

She reached forand's hands. She clenched them tightly, "Is she okay?"sprung to his feet.'s face turned white, 
she took a few short sharp breaths "DUDE, GET A NURSE!"shouted towho was staring at.snapped 
back to reality, he shot off down the corridor. He returned a few moments later with a nurse, "Haws she doing?" "I�d say your goodbyes not, 
she's going" "WHAT? AREN'T YOU DOING ANYTHING TO HELP HER?"screamed "sorry sir, but her will says she didn't want to 
be resuscitated if she was in a critical condition" "NO..NO, SHE CAN'T DIE"kissed he forehead gently,stepped forwards. 

"You are the coolest chick that I�ve ever met, I wont forget you" He couldn't find the words to say how he felt, he kissed her cheek..
stepped forwards crying, "I can't say anything that will make saying goodbye any easier, but I loved every minute you were around, 
I will miss ya like hell..." tears broke him off mid sentence, Johnny put his arm around him "I haven't known you for long, but I know it 
wont ever be the same without you here girl, I�ll miss ya to babes, goodbye"stepped forwards, he coughed, "I will always love you, I 
wont for get you, my own riot girl..."hugged him "since I fist laid my eyes on you, I loved you, nothing can change that, 
I love you..and always will, I don't know how I will be able to carry on living without you, but I will be strong, for you.." She smiled and 
fluttered her eyes open, she looked around the room, and then took in one last breath,felt her hand go limp, 

"I'm so sorry, but she's gone" the nurse looked at each of them. 

"Again i'm so sorry"

"She's gone" a single tear dropped down his cheek onto her face.....
