I was setting up the stalls and putting the glasses back in there places I worked in this club �Senoritas� with 
two other mates of mineandI was co-manager of the place the boss was out of town most of the 
time finding new deals and to promote the club a lot it was popular and everyone who came had a 
great time
�Alright�said coming in
�Yeah I�m great thanks mate� I replied
�Good so how was your holiday� he asked me
�Amazing� I replied
�Oh so you got in withthen�said coming from the back office
�It�s not like that Ant well yeah I did but it�s not like it usually is with me and girls I really care 
and I respect her and her daughter� I said to him
�That�s good mate�said patting me on the back
�Yeah I know I just wish I could do more forbut I can�t prevent her from dying� I said as a lump 
formed in my throat

�Mummy�said in tears when I picked her up from school the Friday
�What�s the matter sweetie� I said hugging her
�Some older kids were being mean saying I�m going bald� she cried into my shoulder
�Hunnie ignore them� I said
�But its true Mummy why is my hair falling out� she screamed
�It�s the treatment you�re having for when you fell ill� I told her
�Nobodies ill for this long� she cried
�People can still have symptoms for ages� I said trying to be reassuring
�Now you wipe those tears away and show me your special smile� I asked her she smiled at me
�I have to drop you round at Amy�s later because I�m going out with� I told her as we got into 
the car
�Yeah I know� she replied putting her seatbelt on we got home and was in the living room watching TV he 
had moved in with us and and I loved having him around
�Hey babe� he said kissing me
�Have a good day?� he asked me
�It was ok� I said
�Only ok?� he asked
�Yeah but it�s getting better cos I�m with you now� I replied
�Awww thanks babe� he replied smiling
��said running into the room after changing and jumping up beside him giving him a hug 
and a kiss on the cheek

�You got your stuff ready?� I asked her
�Not yet� she replied I got up
�I�ll do it for you� I said and left the room going upstairs into hers I packed some stuff up for her 
then went into my room I looked at the calendar and tears started to fall from my eyes she only had 
18 months left to live it seemed to short
���s voice came behind me
�Hey babe� he said hugging me
�She only has 18 months left� I said crying into his chest
�I know but remember we have to stay strong for her�told me I nodded
�I know but sometimes it�s so hard� I said
�Yeah it is�said and left the room I went into the bathroom to wash my face make it less obvious 
that I had been crying.

�How would you like it if me and your mum got married?� I asked quietly her eyes lit up
�I�d love that then maybe you could be my daddy� she said smiling
�I have to ask your mum first though so don�t say anything� I told herclosed her mouth and 
pretended to zip it up I laughed
�I promise� she said ascame into the room
�You look great� I said to her
�Thanks so do you� she replied kissing me
�You ready to go to Amy's then�askedshe nodded
�Yup� she replied racing to the door I opened it and she ran out to my car ascame out behind 
her then me
�Be good�said kissing her cheek as she jumped out of the car and went into�s
�Good evening sir madam� the doorman said letting us into the restaurant
�Name?� he asked
�It�s under� I replied
�Right this way sir� he said and led us to our table
�Thank you�and I replied as he handed us our menu�s and left�
�Excuse me I�ll be back in a minute�said getting up and going to the toilets now was the perfect 
opportunity I got the ring box and put it under her serviette she came back a few minutes later and carried 
on eating
�� I asked
�Yeah� she replied looking at me
�You�ve got some sauce on your chin� I told her she hadn�t really though
�Oh right oops� she said laughing a little as she picked up the serviette to wipe it away
�What�s this?� she asked wiping her chin I took the box and got down on one knee opening the 
box
�would you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?� I asked her she gasped as tears came 
into her eyes
�YesI will� she replied as the tears rolled down her cheeks I kissed her passionately as I slipped the 
ring on her finger
�Check please� I asked the waiter as he went by he came back with the check and I paid it
�I love you so much� I toldas we reached home
�And I love you� she replied kissing me
�What about?�asked
�What about her?� I asked
�Well how will she take it?�asked
�Oh very well I should imagine� I said smiling knowing a little secret�
