The Hardest Thing
Chapter 3

Wow she looked amazing today I thought as I lay in my bed I�m going to miss her 
tomorrow but we have the holiday we booked together in Asia for a whole week of no 
one else we know being there or getting in the way I guess I�ll just go around town 
tomorrow myself while I wait for her to call I thought before going to sleep. 
I woke up the next day and got changed I went downstairs had some breakfast 
and spoke with my mum 
�I�m going to go into town buy some things for the holiday� I told her 
�Want anything� I asked as I went to the door 
�No thanks� she replied 
�Ok see you later mum� I said and went out the door to my car I drove into town 
and walked around the shops I brought a few things like shirts and trousers it 
was getting near lunch time so I decided to go for something to eat I walked into a 
small caf� on the edge of town and ordered some food I waited at a table for it 
when I heard a familiar giggle I looked around and sawat a table with a guy 
making me think did she lie about having something to do with D&G I got up and 
went to leave the caf� I felt I couldn�t stay there 
�I heardcalling I turned around as she walked towards me 
�Heydidn�t see you there� I said 
�I know you did so don�t lie to me� she replied placing her hand on my arm 
�But you lied to me� I said and she looked down 
�And I don�t know why but please come with me and meet him at least� she said I 
followed her back to her table 
�this is my best friend,this ismy boyfriend� she replied 
and I felt something deep inside I hadn�t ever felt before 
�Nice to meet you� I said shaking his hand as I sat down next to 
�You too after hearing much about you� he replied I smiled I felt awkward being 
here but I couldn�t leave my food came over and I ate it with them and chatted about 
ourselves I found outwas training to be a chef very well for him I thought but 
he ain�t good enough forI kept thinking 
�I better be getting off�said looking at his watch 
�Oh alright mate nice to meet you maybe I�ll see you around some other time� I said 
being polite 
�And you goodbye� he said to me I turned away as he kissed goodbye 
I couldn�t bare to watch 
�Wanna go home?� she asked me 
�Yeah sure come on� I replied getting up and leaving with her to my car 
�I�m sorry I didn�t tell you beforeI�ve only been with him a few weeks and I 
didn�t know how you�d react� she replied what did she mean by that 
�I�m happy for you babe just make sure he treats you right� I said as I drove 
us both home 
�Thanks� she said kissing my cheek as she got out of the car 
�Will I see you tomorrow?� I asked her 
�Well we really should pack for our holiday in a few days� she said 
�So I won�t see you tomorrow� I said 
�I�ll drop by when I�ve finished and to make sure you�ve made a start� she replied 
making me laugh 
�Ok then see you sometime tomorrow� I said 
�Bye� she said and walked off into the house I drove to my house and parked 
the car outside the house I ran upstairs taking the phone with me I called 
he shared the dorm with me and he knew all about 
�Hey� he said answering 
�Hey� I replied 
�You alright?� he asked 
�I�m not sure man this summer has been so different� I replied 
�How?� he asked me 
�Wellshe has a boyfriend and I don�t think I like it� I told him 
�I guess your traditional summer plans are a bit of a rollercoaster 
then� he said 
�Yeah that�s what I mean and I don�t know I felt something earlier that I 
hadn�t before maybe it was jealousy of him coming between our friendship I�m 
not sure� I said 
�Could�ve been anyway you�ve still got that holiday in Asia with her for a 
week and he won�t be there you�ll have her all to yourself� he told me 
�I know I will it�s just odd� I said 
�Yeah I know that when something traditional suddenly changes� he replied 
�Exactly anyway I have to go� I said 
�Ok mate speak to you again soon bye� he said and I hung up with a sigh�
