Chapter 9

I had to get up early on a Saturday morning to get to the airport we had a showcase in Tenerife 
couldn�t come because she hadto look after andwanted to stay withbecause 
she thought it would be cruel to leaveby herself. But she was coming to the airport to see us off.
I came out the bathroom with a tower wrapped around my waist I went into the bedroom and got 
changed quickly before styling my hair and going downstairs into the kitchen whereand 
were chatting asfeedat the same time I took her fromand feed her the rest 
of her bottleandwere still deep in conversation talking about tonight what film they 
were going to rent and what food to get in I don�t think they�ve even noticed I�ve walked in the room 
�Morning girls� I said trying to get their attention 
�Morning� they replied in unison 
�When do you leave for the airport?�asked looking up at me 
�In about half an hour� I said looking at the watch on my wrist 
�Oh ok� she replied 
�Why?� I asked 
�Just wondering how much longer I�ve got with you�replied getting up and hugging me 
�Ok well it isn�t long babe� I replied hugging her back 

After that half an hour and a bit more waiting at the airport we were on the plane I had said my 
goodbyes to,andwhich had took more then expected I didn�t think it 
would be so hard I�d only be gone for three days maybe it was because we had been separated for 
about a year and it had killed my heart during that year we were apart and I felt the same sense 
of feeling buthad reassured me that she was going to be waiting for me at the airport the day 
I come back.

had now left I watched as the airplane went up into the sky until it disappeared out of my sights. 
�come on then we better go get to the video store and supermarket get lots of food and video�s to 
watch�said running out the airport I pushed�s pushchair quickly trying to catch up 
withwho was waiting by my car 
�Why are you so excited?� I asked her 
�No reason�said as she opened the boot and put the collapsed pushchair in I rolled my eyes as I 
strappedin and got into the drivers sidegot in and I pulled out driving down to 
the video store 
�So what type of films?�asked as we walked along the rows and rows of videos 
�Girly ones no scary ones �cosandaren�t here to protect us if we get scared�said 
and I laughed 
�Ok and comedy� I replied 
�Of course� 
and I got some videos then went to stock up on food 
�Well that was fun�said as we were weighed down with bags we put them down on the table 
in the kitchen and I quickly ran back out to the driveway and got. 
�I�m just going to drop her off at�s mum�s she knows I�m coming� I said toas I 
closed the changing bag with her night clothes in and tomorrow�s clothes 
�OK�called as I shut the door and went back out to the car puttingin her car seat 
and driving off�s mum�s wasn�t far from where we live which is a good thing as 
doesn�t like travelling for to long I knocked on the door and waited for Sheila to answer it 
�Hello� she said as she pulled the door open 
�Hiyou ok?� I asked her as I stepped through into the hall 
�Yeah I�m fine thanks and can�t wait to look after my darling granddaughter� she replied�s eyes 
lit up when she sawshe held out her little chubby arms forto take hold of her 
�Anyway I�ve got to get going now have fun� I said kissed her forehead she got a bit 
tearful as I walked away 
�I�ll pick her up tomorrow around two� I said toas she closed the door 
�Ok bye� she said before shutting it completely. 
I got back to my homehad set everything up popcorn in bowls manicure sets out and all 
the other beauty therapy we needed for complete relaxation�
