| Death and the Dragon written: Jade [my sister / [email protected]] date: 2 March 2004 note: Duo x Wufei fiction; shounen-ai. A fabulous first fanfiction from my sister. - - - - He closed the gab between them, the dancers continuing to move and sway around them. Yet Duo couldn't see anyone else, violet eyes focused solely on the rocking hips and bouncing head ahead of him; he became the cat focused on the unsuspecting bird. A slow, hungry smile spread across Duo's face as he casually bumped up behind Wufei's dancing form. His short braid swung around, innocently hitting Wufei in the arm causing him to turn. Ebony, lightened by the flashing lights around the dancers, widened in recognition at seeing Duo. A colorful confusion ensued in Wufei's mind, flashes of red, yellow, and blue played out on the features in front of him. Duo automatically trained his face for the Chinese pilot, a wide, surprised grin was now plastered across his face in welcome, his hand shooting out to steer Wufei out of the thick of the crowd so they could talk. Seeing Wufei's surprised and equally curious look only reinforced his excuse to bring them aside. Wufei shook his head, a small smile gliding easily across his lips in the irony that he would find Duo in that same place, that same night, on his particular mission. The last truly aided to peak his curiosity. "Duo--" Wufei began only to be interrupted by a heavy beat from the DJ up front. He automatically grabbed Duo's arm to pull him closer, leaning to the side of Duo's face to talk into his ear. "I hope you know what you're doing here because the last that I recalled you weren't a part of my mission." Duo's body hadn't stopped moving to the beat surging up their feet from the pounding floor. As much as Wufei didn't want to think about it right then, Duo looked anything but a Gundam pilot fighting one of the bloodiest wars in history; no, he looked like the 18 year old he had turned not 3 months ago. "Wow, Wu, I had no idea you were going to be in here. Didn't think this was your place to go after a long day of dealing out death," his brows rose, but his grin never left, giving his eyes the effect there were stars living within those vibrant orbs. Wufei had to shake his head from that last thought. "Obviously that's something you do Duo," Wufei grunted, leaning back away from his fellow pilot. Duo finally turned his full attention on Wufei, tilting his head to one side. His mouth twitched into a grim, sarcastic line. "Ya, this would be my place to kick back. But ya know Wu, I don't think this place suits me anymore. I really think it needs a new outlook, something..." Duo looked around in mock-thought, scanning the walls and ceiling. "Something open, where people can stretch and dance under the colonies. How's that sound Wu?" His eyes narrowed at the last sentence, glittering out the rest of the unsaid. Wufei just folded his arms across his chest, registering with one look what Duo was really doing here; on a mission to destroy this town. Suddenly Duo took Wufei's arm and began to move them toward the glass topped bar. Two fingers poised a moment in the air as he slid into an available stool, pulling Wufei down onto the one beside him in one swift movement. A moment later the waiter came with two drinks clinking down beside them. Duo automatically reached for the one closest and threw it down his throat. His eyes closed tightly before he turned around to the waiter and ordered another. Wufei carefully eyed his fellow pilot; his thin eyebrow rose as he took his own shot and slowly sipped it. "Hey Wufei, let's forget about all that for now and have a good time tonight huh?" Duo's head inclined toward the unceasingly crowded dance floor. Duo threw the other shot down before Wufei could react, and for the third time that night took him by the arm, steering them into the clash of sweating bodies and breath. His glass left at the bar, his body being pulled into a drowning sea of light and sound, Wufei could only follow. His dark eyes focused on the black-clad figure and hypnotizing braid swinging in front of his vision. His mind began to blur in a mist of pounding beat and hissing bodies continuously moving against one another. His right arm was suddenly free from the insistent tug as he was swung around by the other dark figures closing in on him. His mind shut down from rational thought as he felt the changing lights hit his face, spilling across the other enraptured eyes blinking out of the haze. His vision blurred as his own body began moving with the song, his arms going out in front of him and above him, his head tilting back and to his sides. A moment of ecstasy later his eyes flew open as he felt a pair of hands slide down his sides, pulling him closer to an anonymous body. He couldn't think straight as musk and violet filled his senses; he was drowning in the moment, that moment in Duo's arms. Duo continued to rock his body with the heavy pounding of music filling their bones, leaning closer to the Chinese pilot and staring straight into fading slits. "Don't close you eyes...not yet..." was breathed into Wufei's ear. "Otherwise...otherwise you'll miss the show." Wufei tilted his head closer, his breath coming in short puffs. "What...Duo?" A warm chuckle spread through Wufei's skin from Duo's laugh, color tinting his cheeks. "I mean...that...we need to get a better seat...for the show...ya know what I mean?" The twinkle in Duo's eyes almost made Wufei question him, but his mind cleared enough to understand that they had to get out of that place before Shinigami decided to blow it to fiery debris. A quick nod from Wufei and Duo was ready to make for the back door. Seemingly of its own accord, Wufei's arm shot forth and latched onto a black, retreating shirt. Duo was pulled back into the thick of moving forms before he could question. He swung around to see two very large black eyes staring, unblinking out at him from the dimness around. A silent understand passed between the two pilots as a new beat began rumbling out of the scattered speakers. "I won't close my eyes...not yet...just give me one more dance" was mouthed. A strange light seemed to take over Wufei's eyes as he pulled Duo farther into the flexing mass of arms and legs. The song throbbed through Duo's veins as he recognized that hungry stare radiating like heat from Wufei. Without another word Duo pulled the other boy into his circle of space, wrapping his arms loosely around the other's shoulders. Duo felt his hips grind smoothly into Wufei's body, his hands running like smoke across his back, through his black hair and down again across his backside. Wufei's head fell onto Duo's shoulder, eyes open, swimming with emotion, his own hands gliding under the other's shirt, feeling the smooth back, nails running dangerously up and down exposed skin. Duo's head tilted to the side of bronzed neck, lips coming to rest upon heated flesh. A muffled moan was felt against his shoulder as arms rose to wrap around his neck, pulling his face closer to the others. A swirling heat engulfed the two, a comfortable, claustrophobic feeling one always gets in the mix of the dance. Duo's eyes threatened to close, feeling Wufei's breath so close to his own. He only had to breathe out, Wufei would breathe in for him, their breathing flowing together like mist on dark water. Wufei suddenly pulled his head up and locked eyes with deep violet, body continuing its rhythm against the other. He could see the deep pools of that other world inside Duo's mind, that place that was opening up before him. The dragon within his soul flew upward blocking his vision only a moment before he was pressing shivering lips against Duo's. A fiery battle ensued with each biting taste of the others mouth, eyes closing as one, each seeing without sight. Duo's mind swirled in the rush of sexual tension and gut-filling beat still pounding against the floor. Breath fought its way in and out of the gasping mouths. Tongues clashed midway, nails digging into Duo's flesh from behind. There was no turning back as the lights flashed ominous red on the dancers below. Pale yellows and smoky blues followed in repetition, blurring the lines of reality for the entwined forms. A forever high reached the ceiling, threatening to break the roof apart. Duo was the first to break the intimate contact for much needed breath, but continued his possessive hold around the Chinese pilot's waist. He licked his lips before speaking into Wufei's ear. "I don't want to break this up yet,but it's almost time Wufei...we need to find shelter." A breathy pause followed, allowing Wufei to finally speak. "Let's get out of here then...before we get lost again," he added with an unlike-Wufei smirk. Duo could only smile back before turning on his heel, knowing his fellow pilot would follow him out the back door. The chill night air froze the sweat on Duo's face, but his blood still ran warm. He barely noticed the warm flush that engulfed his body as he absently wiped his forehead with his forearm. He didn't stop moving, everything in him said to keep going, keep the pace, don't stop. A delicate light peeked over the rooftops of the city, winking at the two figures weaving through the parking lot. Wufei swerved from the path of Duo's retreating form, aiming for his own car. A few steps and a click later they were both in their separate cars, engines coming to life. Duo led the way with his jeep out of the parking lot onto the main road, Wufei not far behind. Twenty-five minutes later, they had driven to Duo's base house in the back of the city. Past hills and lower valleys, the light bled its way behind them, gaining speed like a wave descending on a beach of sleeping shadows. Death and the Dragon reached the end of their journey, both jumping out of their still running vehicles, knowing the drill all too well. "Wufei, if you have anything back at your base...now's the time to get it together," Duo said, looking at Wufei. "We won't be coming back. A shuttle will be waiting when we get to the port." He waited for Wufei's response, expecting him to nod and turn to go back to his car. "I have everything I need with me." He nodded to his own vehicle without taking his eyes off of Duo. "Let's get your supplies and head to the port..." He paused a moment, eyebrow rising slightly in thought as he stepped closer to the other. A steady golden hand palmed Death's pale cheek and ran a slender finger over blushed lips. "Besides, dawn in coming, why would I want to miss that now? Not the dawn of Earth." A gentle silence hushed around the two boys as the rose dawn swept up into the sky, leaving an innocent blush in its wake. Duo leaned into the touch, stealing a quiet kiss from Wufei's open mouth. The dawn entered the valley with a quiet grace, followed by a showy display of fire and explosions throughout the city. The targeted OZ base and surroundings burned in golden reds throughout the rest of the day, leaving a trail of thick black to mar the perfect sky. A single shuttle was seen leaving the atmosphere before midday, winking at the wreckage below in grim satisfaction of mission completed. Death and the Dragon never came back to reek havoc on the small mountain-side city, but the blush of a kiss was never washed from the dawn again. A reminder that even in war...even in war...enjoy the kiss before the dawn. |
