Dear 1st Grade Parents,
Congratulations! You are the proud parent of a first grader here at Key Biscayne International Christian School! I am happy to be your child's first grade teacher. This year we will be developing many new skills. One of the more exciting things is that we will start making sense of all those letters and sounds we have learned, and begin to read. At home, families can help by reading to and with their child each day, and encouraging their child to write and draw. All that you need is a few books from the library, a few pieces of paper, some crayons and pencils. How Simple! Remember to be patient with your child when reading. Before you know it, your child will become a wonderful reader and writer.
Your child will need to bring some supplies in to school. If you would like to get an early start, please check the supply list on this site. While your at it, take a look at our wish list page too! If any of this presents a problem for you, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks.
Parents, make sure to check our homework link. This will help acclimate you to the procedures and routines regarding homework.
