THE THREE LAWS OF MOTION

Newton's Second First Law of Motion

'An object will remain at rest, or will not change it's speed unless acted upon by an outside unbalanced force'

We feel the effects of this law everyday, but usually don't notice them because other forces interfere. On earth we have the atmosphere that will eventually slow down all moving objects but in space their is no air or atmosphere so an object could keep traveling forever.

A common place you can experience the first law is in a moving vehicle such as a car, when it comes to a stop. An outside force causes the vehicle to stop but the passengers continue to move at the same speed in which the vehicle was traveling. If passengers in the car were not restrained by a seat belt they would continue to move until they hit something like a backseat passenger would say keep moving until they hit the seat in front of them, or a front seat passenger would continue to move until they hit the windscreen but if the windscreen was no longer there they would continue to move until they hit the ground or a wall or something else that would have enough force to stop them from moving.

Newton's Second Law of Motion

'Acceleration = Force/Mass'

This can be shortened to A=F/M or F=MA.

Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass. The greater the mass of the object being accelerated the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate it. Also the direction of the acceleration is in the direction of the applied force. If the object has a greater mass and the same force is applied to it than one with a lesser mass the one with the lesser mass will accelerate faster than the one with a greater mass.

Newton's Third Law of Motion

'Every action has an equal or opposite reaction'

The third of Newton's Laws is probably the most famous, what it is basically trying to say that every force has an equal or opposite force. An example of this is in a game of tug of war, when one side pull on the other side, the other side pulls back with the same force.  What make one of the side lose is when they lose the friction force from the ground, the force that pushes them away from the line.
