Looking Back
The Network has organised and been involved with a range of events and activities. (Click on photos to enlarge them)
Looking back, we have...
- Organised a Fairtrade Fashion show to celebrate the launch of Fairtrade Cotton during Fairtrade Fortnight 2006.
- Held a Fairtrade market in the High Street leading up to Christmas 2005, mingling Fairtrade with the mainstream.
- Lobbied Croydon Council to pass a resolution in support of Fairtrade (2002).
- Co-hosted a 'Fairtrade Chocolate Challenge' with the Co-op and Oxfam (2002). A network member cooked up a host of delicious delicacies made from Fairtrade chocolate.
- Run a number of stalls - yearly at the Croydon Summer Festival, Selsdon Show, school fairs, church fetes and various other events.
- Officially launched Croydon's Fairtrade Borough status in 'Caf� Opera', Croydon's flagship Fairtrade caf�, followed by the launch of the Fairtrade London Campaign at City Hall (2003).
- Lobbied Nestl�, with WDM and Oxfam, to buy a proportion of its coffee under Fairtrade terms and conditions (2003).
- Celebrated and planned Fairtrade shop for Croydon at a pre-launch event, and then the Grand Opening itself on a glorious sunny day in November 2003.

- Held a Fairtrade market and tea-party for the Fairtrade Foundation's 10th Anniversary (2004).
- Organised a Public Debate with Nestl�, Fairtrade Foundation, Day Chocolate and an economist, entitled, "How can Fairer trade, 'Make Poverty History'?" and chaired by the Bishop of Croydon.
