The table has been updated again with the currency exchange between South Korea Won and US Dollar, according to Xe.com today.

New companies added to the table: Crobidoll and Latidoll. Crobidoll is in the green range just because of the fluctuation of the currencies:. They just change the sign from won to USD in the international prices.. Latidoll is too in the green level, but two of their dolls, Nill and Irene from the Red Line, have just 11% and 12% of difference. If they apply this rate to the rest of their dolls they would reach the Blue Level of the table, wich we consider Fair. Until then, they will remain in the green level.

The tables have been updated.
Due to the won/USD fluctuations, many korean companies have reached the "safe"
levels, as you can see in the colour diagram and in the table below. Today the
local prices translated into USD are higher than before, but this means that
companies receive less money in their local currency for our international orders.
We hope that this situation won't encourage them to raise international prices
and reach the "unfair" range of the table again.

Angel of Dream have done
an adjustment of the prices of some of their dolls, but the difference of price
between local and international prices is still the biggest in chinesse
companies. They used to charge almost 100% the local
price, and now it's just 70%. Anyway we think it is too much
compared to the 15% of Dolzone. And
Bobobie has an international price that is even cheaper
than the local price.
AoD already had problems in the past with resellers in e-bay (people buying
in china and selling internationally at a slightly higher price, but lower than
international price anyway). We don't like to tell anyone how to manage their
bussiness, but with this difference it is logical that customers would preffer
to ask shopping agents or resellers to buy their dolls, and it is a legitimate
way to do. If AoD doesn't like it, maybe they should adjust their prices to
a reasonable rate.

We have actualized our calculations with the new Iplehouse prices. They have raised local prices and lowered international ones, going from a 50% difference to a 25%. We think this bussiness policy is really nice and shows their respect for us, international customers. This is the way to go.

Recently we realized about this
post in Dollicio.us, in wich they talk about this
site and propose some alternative ways to avoid the gap between local
and international prices:
1. Speak fluently their language and ask politely for the local prices.
Maybe this could work.
2. Use a shopping service. They provide a name: sunkyung’s shopping
service, currently closed but soon to be open again.

Today Iplehouse manifested their intention of raise the prices of their dolls according to the currency rates and increasing price of the materials. We understand this fact and hope that the raising will be equal in local and international prices. As you can see below and in the colour boxes in the left, the difference between local and international prices in this company is now between 50% and 60%. Next week, with the new prices already stated, we will actualize our calculations.

Kathy, from Dolls and Friends, posted
in her BJD blog Doll
Thoughts about the fact that some Korean doll companies have translated
their manufacture of dolls to China, wich is cheaper, but the prices remains
the same. She talks about Custom House. Read the full
text for further information.
We know that there are other companies, such as DIM Memory
line, or DollnDoll, whose dolls are manufactured in china,
and have slightly lower prices than other dolls with similar size. You
can check this easily in DIM website: their Memory
and Love line have the same sculpts, but
one is manufactured in China and the other in Korea: the difference in
price is really big: 250 and 410 USD.
As you can see, the location of the doll manufacturing really matters.

We'd like to thank Luts for their kindness and willingness in clearing their clients' doubts on this matter. Some friends of us inquired some other Doll Companies about the price difference and have no response. As you can see below, Luts have a difference of 35% between local an international prices, wich is among the lower ones in Korean shops.

We'd like to thank Dollmore for adjusting their prices to the currency fluctuations. This is the way to go.
