MWF Europe: English sights |
|
|
|
A few pictures from my recent trip to England, mostly from the 3 day sight-seeing whirlwind after the MasterWorks Festival ended. August 2004. |

Ah, the viola section! Week number 1... |

Mon. Aug 23. London Bridge -- a misty morning. Good thing I brought my umbrella! |

Salisbury Cathedral. I was so fascinated by this place that I forgot what time I was supposed to meet back with the group to go to the next sight... |

Roses in the Garden at Warwick Castle, a place of medieval reenactment. Unlike the "Medieval Times" and Ren Fairs here in the US, Warwick castle actually existed during medieval times.... |

On a boat ride down the Thames river, I caught this view of Parliment & Big Ben. Much more impressive in person than in picture. |

But this one needs a caption. Did you know they have sheep at Stonehenge? Somehow in all I've heard about the place, they failed to mention this very important fact. Sheep noises and highway noises (the place is surrounded by two highways that split around it like rivers. Though there are plans to divert the highways or bury them underground so it'll be quieter for visitors in the future.) |
