Sorry, no one under 10 years old is allowed in the house. We pride ourselves on scaring the yell out of you. You will find some disturbing images and a lot of extremely scary situations. Be advised that our house is not for the faint of heart! Where does the Haunted House take place? Soule Building at the Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid City, SD How do I get to the Haunted House? To see what the scare is all about head to the corner of Omaha St. and Campbell St. From there go South to the main entrance of the Central States Fairgrounds. Then turn right and travel about 1/4 mile to parking entrance. Turn right again and be sure to park on the paved parking lot. Look for the very large building with the spooky front and lines of people waiting to get in!! How large is the Haunted House? We are the LARGEST haunted attraction in the state of South Dakota!!! We have a total of 12,000 terrifying square feet of ground for this spooktacular event. How many people go through the Haunted House? We scare on average 500 people a night and approximately 4,000 patrons total each year. How long do I have to wait to get into the Haunted House? On Friday and Saturday you can expect the line to be long unless you arrive early. The weekdays are usually slower. Obviously weather plays a big role in attendance as well. We've been doing this for over ten years so don't worry about waiting too long. We keep groups of 2 to 6 people going in the house at least every couple minutes. Do we have to wait outside in the cold before getting into the Haunted House? We have a very large indoor waiting area that is sheltered from the cold. At peak times the line might extend outdoors, but we keep the groups going quickly. Do you have food or drinks available in the waiting room? Near the beginning of the line we have a concession stand that is run by different local groups, clubs, and organizations each night (If you're group is interested in volunteering please contact us). We usually have pop, hotdogs, popcorn, assorted candy, and hot drinks available for purchase. How long does it take to go through the Haunted House? From beginning to end on average it will take you at least 30 minutes, but sometimes longer depending on your groups speed. How much food do you collect? We collect on average 2.000 pounds of food for the Black Hills Food Bank each year. How long does it take to organize the Haunted House? Organizing and planning a haunted attraction of this magnitude is truly a year round process. After Halloween we take a couple months off, but usually in January we are back at it again. Can I help with the Haunted House? We utilize over 2,000 hours of volunteer time and are always in need of more people to help us in any way they can. Details include construction, set-up, move-in, costumes, props, manning/acting the house and tear-down and clean-up. If you are wanting to take a special part in our cause then you might like to become a board member. No matter how you help it is much appreciated!
