The song "The Rainbow Connection" done by Jim Hensen's Muppets states a good point in it's first line. "Why are there so many songs about rainbows?" I think typical rainbows are highly overdone; beautiful though they are, highly overdone.

I wanted a piece that was, in it's own right, a "rainbow" without the everyday look of one. I fingerpainted this to symbolize that it's the children, in their simplicity, who see the most in a rainbow.
