My mother has a friend named "Marva", short for "Marvalous". Her mother had attempted to have a child for years and years with no sucess. She finally became pregnant and all she could say was, "This is marvalous!" Thus, her daughter's name.

I have never met this woman, but her name inspired me to create. I hope that I have done her justice. This painting is dedicated to her.
