The SANTA MARIA is currently docked in Cuckhold Creek in St. Mary's County, Maryland.
- Built on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1980-81 by John Swain, a noted
Chesapeake boat builder
- Designed by Al Mason, a noted marine designer
- Constructed - Honduras mahogany strip planked with Maryland white oak
frames, bronze fastend and epoxy glued, teak decks over epoxied plywood (not
teak plywood)
- Engine- "Perkins New 108" diesel
- Sails- Main (3 reefs), Mizzen (3 reefs), Genoa, Working Jib, Storm Jib and
Storm Tri-sail, Spinnaker (crusing), twin running staysls (incl. down wind
poles), Mizzen staysl
- Electronics- D.F., VHF, Loran, RDF, Radar, Auto Pilot; with remote
- Canvas- Bimini, complete enclosure incl. screens, sun awing(s), winter cover, hatch covers, etc.
- Dinghy Davits, Boarding ladder
- Fuel: 70 gal. Diesel Water: 2 tanks 60 gal. each
- Galley- Diesel stove, refrigerator, ect., propane sea swing- Diesel Heater fwd.
- Head with shower, Separate engine room, with full head-room and work
bench
- 4 opening hatches, 4 Dorad Vents, 14 Bronze opening ports with screens,
Lexan Stern windows and opening Dog House
- Bunks- Forepeak, mid-ship, cofin (2) and stern castle- All 6'-2 inches or more
- Ground tackle includes anchor(s), lines, etc.
- Keel- 6 foot draft, deep keel with cut away forefoot and lead exterior keel
- Built for long distance cruising
