Fairfield Crossing

a band performing a vibrant mixture of traditional and contemporary folk vocals and instrumentals.

We are musical friends who discovered that our voices and instruments blended together in a way to spark an exciting and engaging sound. Our repertoire consists of traditional and contemporary Irish/Scottish, Appalachian, bluegrass, New England and French Canadian tunes. We stir in some original vocals and instrumentals to spice things up. From lively jigs and reels to beautiful waltzes and airs to Irish pub songs and bluegrass standards to captivating ballads, Fairfield Crossing creates a delightful musical adventure with something for everyone.

Our group is comprised of
Erick Feucht - Vocals, mandolin, fiddle, tenor banjo, guitar
Julie Sorcek - Vocals, flute, piccolo, whistle
Britt Goodman - hammered dulcimer, English concertina, button accordion
Robin Reid - Vocals, guitar
Louis Audette - Bass

We now have audio clips up at our MySpace site, so please stop by and give us a listen. The clips were recorded live at area gigs during the fall of 2007 and summer of 2008. Also check out the You Tube of us on public access TV in March of 2008!

Thank you for stopping by our site, and we hope you will contact us for more information about us, if you are interested in being on our mailing list, or to book us for your event. We are available for all types of functions, whether you are looking for a lively program suitable for a party setting, a more subtle instrumental program for your wedding or open house, or engaging music for your restaurant, coffee house or pub clientele. We will work with you to put together the best musical program for your event!

Fairfield Crossing at Roxbury Pickin' and Fiddlin' Contest 2008

ErickErick Feucht has been actively playing mandolin, fiddle and guitar in this area for the past several years. His interests include bluegrass and old-time music along with Celtic themes. A passionate jammer, Erick is happiest in musical settings that challenge his creativity and expand his knowledge in new ways. Fairfield Crossing indulges Erick's long time love of Irish and Scottish song and dance music, allowing him to explore the subtleties of this endearing musical genre. Erick lives in Newtown and is, along with his wife, Kim, the owner of Stockbridge & Berry Home Furnishings in Monroe and Southbury.

JulieJulie Sorcek has been playing flute since she was ten years old, and has been off and running ever since. Her love of folk and Celtic music stems from childhood, and she very much enjoys the opportunity to play music from both of these genres with Fairfield Crossing. Currently a full time performing musician, Julie also plays with the contra dance band The Reel Thing, where she adds saxophone and occasionally bodhran to the musical mix, and with the folk trio Chicks 'n Sync. She is becoming well known on the Connecticut contra musicians' circuit, with The Reel Thing and having played as a guest artist with the contra dance bands Jane's Gang, Groovemama and Out on a Whim, and also having appeared at the NOMAD (NOrtheast Music and Dance) Festival in New Haven, CT. Julie is the concert band director at Immaculate High School in Danbury, and lives with her husband and teenage son in Bethel.

BrittBritt Goodman is originally from the Midwest. She was introduced to contra dance music after moving to Connecticut and has been playing and dancing ever since. She plays hammered dulcimer and English concertina with Fairfield Crossing, with the trio Chicks 'n Sync, and with the HCD Contra Jammers. A founding member of the Nefesh Klezmer Band, Britt plays piano and dulcimer at weddings, bar mitzvahs and fundraisers, and can be heard on the Nefesh CD Unplucked.

RobinRobin Reid brings a driving guitar and vocals founded in the bluegrass tradition to Fairfield Crossing. She is also a member of Chicks 'n Sync, and is a frequent contra dancer.

LouWe are delighted to have bassist Louis Audette playing with us! Lou is also a member of the ZuZazz String Orchestra, and the group Cornbread.
