Chapter 8 "Today we’ve got to very special guests who are in town for the premiere of Spike Lee’s remake of the classic Rent, which they co-star in together. Please welcome *NSYNC’s Justin Timberlake, and up and coming actress, Julia Cobb, who started her acting career as Phoebe Brady on Days of Our Lives before landing leading roles in both this film and the soon to be released Bubbles," said Carson Daly. "Thanks for taking the time to stop by and speak to us, Justin and Julia." "No problem. Thanks for having us," Justin replied. "Yah thanks for having us," Julia nodded. "It’s our pleasure," Carson answered. "So are you excited for your first movie premiere?" "Very," Justin said. "It’s very exciting." "Cool. So was making the movie a good time?" "It was. Besides getting to work together we got to know a lot of really wonderful people on set," Justin answered. "Would you work together again?" "Sure, why not?" Julia replied. "Only if there’s a kissin scene," Justin joked. "Brit’d have my neck, definitely no kissing scenes," Julia shook her head. After a couple of videos, commercials, and questions from Carson they took questions from the audience. "Who are you guys going to the premiere with?" asked one young lady. "I hadn’t really thought about it, suppose I’ll probably take Brit. She mentioned she had a new dress she was looking for somewhere to wear it to," Justin replied. "How about you, Julia?" Carson questioned. "Who’s so lucky as to get to go with you?" "Well I actually have two dates," Julia answered. "I couldn’t choose between my son, Micah, and my fiancé." "Fiancé?" Carson repeated. "Would he happen to be a certain singer who you’ve got a child with?" "Yah," Julia nodded. "Me and Chris." "You and Chris is engaged? Girl, you might wanna let Lance in on this," Justin said. "He thinks y’all bout to hook up." "Don’t let him confuse y’all," Julia shook her head. "I’m with Chris." "Okay you’ve lost me," Carson said looking at the two oddly. Julia giggled. "Sorry about that, inside joke." "Okay so who are you engaged to?" "Joey," Julia said at the same time Justin said, "Eminem." "How did Eminem get brought into this?" "Another inside joke," Justin replied. "Seriously though, JC Chasez and I are engaged," Julia said after she claimed down from laughing. "That’s wonderful, congratulations. How long have you been engaged?" "A month." "Do you have a date set?" "Yah but I can’t say when cause we’re only like inviting Joey and Lance and we don’t want Justin and Chris to feel left out," Julia explained. "Which reminds me, Brit, if you’re watching remember you’re supposed to tell Justin you’re ‘spending the weekend with your cousin.’ We’ll figure out a cover for the tan later." "Like Chris and I care if we don’t get invited to your wedding anyway," Justin said sticking his tongue out at Julia. "Lord you two should never be allowed to do appearances by yourself, like ever," JC shook his head when they returned from TRL. "You gotta admit it was funny," Justin said. "You just keep on telling yourself that," Britney replied. "I will." "So anyway, what are we supposed to do now?" Julia asked. "Get ready, duh," Britney answered. "Oh fun," Julia yawned, looking at Micah. "How long’s he been asleep?" "Thirty minutes, went down for the count right after TRL," JC answered. "Okay, just checking cause he’s gonna be wired as it is." "So you ready for your first appearance as an engaged couple?" Joey asked as they rode to the premiere. "Guess it’ll be different than the other times we were ‘engaged’, huh?" Julia remarked. "Totally," Kelly nodded. "You do realize though, this set a standard for when you two should marry or be engaged," JC said. "Yeh? How?" Joey questioned. "You got a child together as well and if we’re getting engaged after almost five years, Joe, you better be ready to pop it by the time Bri’s five," Julia explained. "Damn so I got three years to grow up?" "No, I’m putting you on a shorter one, C’s known about Micah for almost two years so you get until she’s two," Kelly said. "I’m kidding," she added after a minute when Joey paled. "I knew that--" "Sure you did, Joey," Julia giggled. "Whatever," he pouted. "You’re still not a cute as Justin when you pout like that," Kelly said pinching his cheek. "So quit it." "Maybe I don’t want to." "I’ve got two children," Kelly sighed. "You’re lucky JC’s at least got the maturity level of a eighteen year old, Ju." "Eighteen? I was thinking more like ten, that’s before they get too moody or boy like," Julia said. "Well however old he still beats Joey’s three." "Hey!" Joey exclaimed. "At least he’s the same old Joey, fame hasn’t changed him a bit," Julia pointed out. "He’s still the same guy he was when we started dating," Kelly agreed. "And that’s a good thing?" JC questioned. "I think so," Kelly nodded. "Aww how sweet," Julia smiled. "How about me, have I changed?" JC asked. "Only for the better," Julia answered. "How so?" "You know about all the stuff my parents taught me about growing up and you actually enjoy it," Julia explained. "Basically you’re a trophy," Joey joked. "No Matt Castleton was a trophy," Julia shook her head. "Josh is a well groomed man." "Thank you, I think," JC replied. "It’s a good thing, I promise," Julia said. "We should probably wake Micah, we’re almost to the theater." "Nervous?" Joey questioned. "No more than I ever was on opening night in high school." "Hopefully you won’t throw up the moment you step out of the limo like you did before the opening of Peter Pan," Joey said. "That’d be impressive," Julia replied. == "How’s it going?" JC asked Julia, looking up from his list of could be guests. "I just finished my family and I already have a hundred guests," Julia answered. "How about you?" "The same," he groaned. "Well think of it this way, you don’t have to invite Tyler, Justin, Lance, Joey, or Chris." "And you don’t have to invite Britney, Alyson, Kelly, Kaia or Caitlin." "But we’ve still got to invite their families, or at least parts of them." "This wedding is going to be massive," JC sighed. "I think it might actually be bigger than Caitlin’s," Julia said. "She had over a thousand people at her wedding," JC remembered. "Yep and at this rate we could end up with more than that and however many of your fans manage to find out and sneak in." "I don’t think too many are gonna find us at your grandparents’ house in Italy." "That’s probably true, so good, then we won’t have to worry about not having enough seats." "There’s a plus side," JC sighed. "What do you say we put the guest lists a side for a while?" Julia suggested. "I say that’s the best idea either of us has had all day," JC answered. "We should just elope." "And face our mothers? No thank you!" Julia shook her head. "You afraid of ‘em?" "You better believe I am! My mother loves weddings, this is what she does for fun! She’d kill us for ruining her fun," Julia exclaimed. "Don’t tell me you aren’t afraid of them." "I am," JC admitted. "This is my mother’s first wedding she’s practicing for the next two and she’d kill us too." "Damn our mothers for caring," Julia sighed, laying her head on his shoulder. "I heard that, Julia," Pepper said coming into the room with Karen. "Are you finished with your guest lists?" "We’re taking a break," Julia answered. "We’ve each got over a hundred." "In just family alone," JC added. "Well hurry with them, please! We need to know how to arrange the tables," Pepper said. "Yes ma’am," they chorused. "Eloping isn’t sounding so bad anymore," Julia murmured to JC. "I know. I could book a flight to Las Vegas leaving within the hour mostly like." "Don’t even joke about eloping," Karen warned, tapping JC on the head. "Us? Never! We’re looking forward to this huge wedding you two are planning for us," JC said. "Totally!" "Good, because do you know how many people would kill to have a winter wedding in Rome?" Pepper exclaimed. "A lot?" Julia suggested. "More than a lot, Julia," Pepper sighed. "What am I going to do with you?" "Leave me alone for five minutes?" she suggested. "If you promise you’ll finish those lists soon," Pepper answered. "Deal," Julia replied. "We’ll have them on your desk the moment we finish them." "Such the smart mouth," Pepper said, shaking her head as she and Karen left the room. "Think we can still catch that flight?" Julia whispered, before bursting into giggles. "Is marriage worth this?" JC asked. "Your prize for marriage is more nights like the one that got us Micah," Julia answered. "Totally worth it then," JC smiled, dropping a kiss on her lips. = "Vegas? You’re gonna marry the girl in Rome and take her to Vegas for your honeymoon?" Justin questioned looking at JC’s laptop. "Usually it’s the other way around, isn’t it?" Chris put in. "Kelly told me Julia said you two had already booked a cruise for the three of you," Joey said. "We did," JC answered not talking his eyes off the flights he was going through. "You three are so stupid," Lance sighed. "Look at the dates of those flights." "The nineteenth? That’s before you get married, C," Joey said. "And these flights leave from New York, not Italy." "Your mothers would kill you if they knew you were even looking at flights," Lance said to JC, ignoring Joey. "Why?" questioned the other three. "What do people do in Vegas, you three?" "Well you loose a lot of money, Lance," Chris started out. "And Chris gets with some hookers," added Justin. "And I almost got married that one time," Joey said. "Dude!! You can’t elope! Julia’s a Catholic!!" "So?" Chris replied. "So Catholics gotta have real weddings!" "What makes them anymore special than anyone else who might want to elope?" Chris asked. "We don’t have time for you two to fight about that," Lance interjected. "We’re not eloping," JC said after a moment. "We’re just playing a game to keep ourselves sane with all our mothers are doing." "You promise you ain’t elopin?" Joey asked. "Yes, I promise," JC sighed. "Good." |
