Warmaster: The Skaven Year(s)
It has taken me two years or so since I was introduced to Warmaster to get around to even start painting an army. I have chosen Skaven to start with which may or may not be a bright move - lots of miniatures needed, a few quirky rules, no cavalry, no missile weapons, and last but by no means least I have never really painted a rat figure to my satisfaction. With all of that going for/against me, I finally picked up a brush and started painting the Screaming Bell miniature. In a way, this is the last figure that I should be trying out as: it is the army general, it requires a large number of troops for it to be usable, and I am still getting to grip on how (not) to paint skaven...
Based and ready for action, the Screaming Bell with Grey Seer atop will be the general of my army when the army actually is finished. Realistically it will be a while before it is useful as I don't see it being practical to purchase for low point games.

(prior to basing)
To the right and left are the first finished troops. Not much point-wise, but they are a start.
This is how things look as of this point -
a couple of rat swarms, a unit of clan rats and two warp fire cannons in addition to the characters and the screaming bell.
As far as points go, I probably have 4-6 times and many points in characters than I do in troops now, but it is doubtful that any more characters will be needed.
The Troops
Grey Seer in front (or Wizard when the Screaming Bell comes into its own) and 4 heroes On the left are two clan Skyre Heroes, the one in back has a ratling gun. Clan Moulder is represented in the back right and Clan Eshin on the front right.
Clan Moulder and a Warlord Clan figure are on the paint table currently.

There is another pack of Clan Rats on the paint table as well as a few more characters, but when those are done - time to get more troops. I am not sure whether the next batch of miniatures will be more generic troops or whether I will start getting the clan specific ones. I know that each of the clan heroes will want a few troops to back him up as this is a game about the troops not the characters.
Despite the recent activity, don't expect miracles on this page as I forsee it progressing slowly.
