| Walking through the forest, sounds of birds and other scattered wildlife greet your ears. A light smell of water and earth mixed reach you, and you breath in deeply the rich scent. A slight breeze washes over your face, taking away the slight heat off the forest. The path you follow has been recently made, and it is hard for you to stay upon the trail. The thick canopy lets in little light, making it even harder to find your way through this unknown forest. Not really paying attention to where you are going, as long as you follow the path, you stumble into someone. "OH!! Im so sorry!! I was not watching where I was going!!" This strange elf eyes' are full of forgiveness, and you assure her that you are alright. "Man, sometimes my mind just wonders....anyway, who are you?" You tell her your name. "Well, my name is Penelope. I live nearby in a small cottage. I have traveled far and wide in search of adventures. Walk with me and I shall tell you why I have chosen to stay here." Penelope walks down the path, and you have no choice to follow. After a few minutes, the forest ends, and you find yourself in a lovely meadow, covered in flowers. "Is the meadow beautiful or what? Farther on, behind that hill over there, is a small stream that ends in a crystal clear lake. My cottage is on the edge of this lake. Shall we go there now?" She starts to walk on further, heading towards the hill a way of in the distance. Passing over the rise of the hill, you look down upon a small lovely cottage, and the lake that she had talked about earlier. She makes towards it, and finding a large rock covered with moss near the lake, she sits down. "Now, as I promised, I shall tell you why I am here. In my journeys I found that Dragons do exist. My parents had always told me stories about those wonderful creatures, but they did not believe in them themselves. I grew fond of dragons all over again, just I had done so long ago when my parents were alive. In my journeys I found a place called the Valley of the DragonKnights. I have been accepted and have become a Dragon Knight!! I am so happy!! I have recieved into my care a beautiful midnight glasswing winddragon.Dragon is full grown, showing off his full wingspan. He has a great love for the night, sometimes sleeping during the day, and staying awake at night. |

| After exploring the meadow and the nearby forest further, you decide to take a rest at the side of the lake. Sitting down upon a moss covered rock, you listen to the gentle sound of the water from the small river deposit into the small lake. The calm surface of the lake reflects the moon well, unmarring its natural beauty. The sky glitters with what seems a thousand stars. The night is warm and and a slight breeze blows your hair away from your face. Sitting down under the wonderful night sky, you feel at peace in this strange, yet beautiful land. You hear the door of the cottage open, and Penelope comes out from inside and Drago follows closely on her heel. She comes over to you and sits down upon the ground beside you and Drago joins her by resting his head upon her lap. Penelope glances up at the stars and a slight smile reaches her face. "The night sky has always fascinated me..." Penelope murmurs to herself as she begins to massage Dragon's head. Your gaze is once more drawn towards the night sky, and you look for any major constellations that you might see. "I have heard many tales about how the stars have become the way they have. Would you like to hear some popular beliefs about stars?" You nod your head yes, and she explains about star. "Most people see the stars as a way to tell the future. An old tribe, the Mayas, used the stars to predict bad times and good times. They also used them to predict the end of the world, somwhere around 2006 I think, but we won't know if that is true or not until later. Some people use the stars and the planets to tell about one's own personality traits and what that person might expect in life. The most popular way of doing this is the 12 signs of the Zodiac. Im a Capricorn and Drago is a Libra!! Other people used to believe that heroes of their world would become inmortal in the stars. Planets were also believed to affect the way someone lived. Their specific planet in a certain position could bring them bad luck or good luck that day. Also, it is said that the phases of the moon affect the way magic works. Anyway can be true, and there must be dozens more ways, but I believe it is impossible to know them all." You thank her for the information and you look up to the sky once more. |
