| Among the short brush and tall waving grass, you find a newly made path. You decide to follow along it, to see where it may lead you. The sun is hidden by rolling clouds, and any warmth from the sun is found in small patches, scattered unevenly about the ground at uneven intervels. A sharp wind begins to blow, and you pull you coat tight against you. Soon the trail ends and you find yourself standing on the edge of a dark forest. You decide to enter the forest, and once inside, you find yourself at peace. Sunlight has trouble penetrating through the thick canopy of the old oak trees surrounding you. The sounds of birds trilling high in the branches of the trees, meet your ears, adding music to the quiet forest. Shadows enfold the spaces between the trees, so the forest blends into one. The smell of water and soil meet your nose, faint on the slight breeze still blowing through the leaves. You find the trail once again through the dim gloom. Following the path, you soon find yourself on a grassy area. Ahead of you is a lake, murky, and very deep as far as you can tell. The surrounding trees stand so close and they seem like a wall. You hear some bushes rustling to your right. You turn as a fairy flits out of the forest, smiling as she comes up to greet you. "Hello, my name is Dewdrop and I am the caretaker of the dragon that lives here. Our dragon, Ajax, came from the Darkelf Adoption Agency, opened by my keeper of this site, Desiree. Ajax is one of the first ones adopted out from this agency, and we hope that you too will want to adopt a dragon of your own." She turns towards the water and yells the name Ajax. Ripples appear on the surface of the calm lake. A dragon head pops up above the surface. The dragon looks at you with questioning eyes, then climbs fully out from the water. |
