You find yourself in a forest, trees surrounding you in all directions, giving no sign of breaking. No trails can be seen in the area, devoid of any signs that people had been to this vibrant, green forest. You decide to go further into the forest without guide, and have yourself a small adventure. You walk towards the north, aimlessly walking on your way to whatever lay ahead. The sun shines in the sky above, adding warmth and a welcome warmth to you and the forest surrounding you. Birds trill while sitting on the limbs of trees, the wind carrying their song throughout the boughs of the trees. The wind gently blows across your cheeks and through your hair causing you to unconciously pull it back. You look all around, seeing if you might see some kind of salient shape in the forest. You see no prominent figure, but something else catches your eyes. A shadow had winded it's way through the trees not too far away from you. The shape was human like, and whether or not the shape was pernicious or not, was unknown. Your imagination begins to play upon your mind no matter how much you tell yourself not too worry. Shapes of strange creatures and strange actions flit through your mind, panic beggining to take toll upon your mind. Unsure of what to do, you follow out the first idea that comes into your mind. You break into a run, trying to outrun the shape that starts to dart between the trees faster and faster. The shadow follows you unrelentlessly, forcing you to quicken your steps. Your breathing becomes haggard and your legs begin to burn with pain. The uneven ground occasionaly gives way into small holes which twist your feet as you run. The tree branches claw at your clothes as you past, as if they

were trying to stop you in your run and leave you in the mercy of the unknown shadow. You jump over fallen roots which try to entangle your feet, landing hard on the ground on the other side. You stumble but quickly gain your balance and continue running northward. You trip over a rock covered with lichen, oblivious to your view as you were running. You sprawl on the ground, almost ready to give up and allow the shadow to catch you. You look around quickly as you get up from the grass covered area. You are in a small meadow, which ends in what looks like a small chasm. The meadow is covered in tall green grass, giving the air a fresh scent of earth and newness. You run quickly across the small meadow and wince as you do. You are exposed to the shadow which has still not brested the forest's edge and entered the small, lush meadow. You quickly make it across and stand on the edge of the chasm. The chasm turns out to not be a chasm, but a river which has cut into the ground deeply. The small hill which you are standing has hidden it from view, giving the appearance of a very small chasm from the distance. You stare into the river which cuts through the forest, wondering where you can head to next. Before you can decide, your decision is taken from you and the answer is chosen for you. Strong hands push you from behind, causing you to lost your balance and fall into the slow moving water of the river below. You swim blindly for a moment, too surprised to act right away. Eventually, you clear your mind as well as you can and swim up to the surface of the deep river. As soon as your head emerges, high musical laughter greets your ears. You look up and find a forest elf sitting on the edge of the high river bed, looking at you and laughing. "You humans-" her words are broken up and being forced through her breath-taking laughter. "are just--so--so--FUNNY!" She laughs even harder as a scowl takes countenance on your face. She rolls onto her side, clutching her stomach as she laughs. "HEY! Thats not funny!" You say to the laughing forest elf as you wade towards the riverbed. The elf wipes a tear out of her eye as she forces her laughter to subside. She then lends a hand over the edge of the riverbed to help you up.
"Oh, come on, you have to admit it was funny! You should have seen the look on your face in the forest back there, pure humor!" "I do not think it was funny, scaring me out of my wits!" "Besides being funny, you humans do not have a good sense of humor," she says as her attitude visibly darkens. "Well, since you seem to be in such a poor mood because of me, why do I not show you around here then?" You give her a menacing look, but decide to drop it for now. You nod your head and the elf's face brightens. "Well, first, the introductions." She says as she extends her hand for a handshake. "My name is Willow." You take her hand and tell her your name. "Glad to meet ya!" She says in reply. "Anyways, this is part of the Forest which I am the gaurdian of. During my journies I came across the Keltic Rose Refuge (link below) and saw all of the abondoned dragons there. So, I decided to try and adopt one of them who goes by the name of Emerald Wing. I hope I will be able to bring her here and keep her safe." She takes you on a small tour of the tiny meadow, river and surrounding forest. The place is beautiful, a sense of new life and the vibrant song of nature echoing throughout the place. *** You decide to visit a few days later, wanting to see if the dragonet had come to live with Willow. Before approaching the river though, you look around, not wanting to be caught unaware by Willow and find yourself in the river once again. But looking around you cannot find Willow. So, you decide to aproach the river and look around some more. You soon find yourself standing on the bank of the rushing river, looking into the crystal clear water. You see a fish swim by, his green and blue scales catching the warm sunlight. You look up and down the river banks, wondering wherever Willow could be. And then you see her, further down the river, looking at something next to a giant boulder. You walk over to where Willow is sitting on a small boulder on the edge of the river. "Good Morning!" Willow says happily as she smiles. "You seem really happy today," you comment to Willow. "Well, I have reason to be. The dragonet came!" *** Willow greets you with a wide grin. 'Uh oh,' you think as you watch her grin grow. Willow smiling like that does not bode well. You hear a soft whispering through the grassy meadow near the edge of the river. You turn to see what it could be, but you see nothing. You turn to look once again over the river. And the next thing you know you are floating in the river, glaring up at Willow and Emerald Wing who are laughing merrily. Emerald Wing had grown to full during the time you were gone. "Humans! They never learn," Willow cries happily. "That's the second succesful plan this day!" Emerald Wing says cheerily. "Yeah," Willow says as she begins to pull you out of the water. "Except this one did not get as mad as Desiree." Emerald Wing begins laughing once again at this. "She looked like a wet rat!" Emerald Wing continues to laugh as your begin to dry yourself.
