Well, all the homes are in order and all of the dragons are healthy, Desiree said as she shuffled through her papers. She had just completed her weekly inspection with Iris of the dragons homes. They knew the guardians were taking good care of the dragons and their homes, but they did this anyway to make sure nothing went wrong. They had spent the whole day walking around, playing with the dragons, and now they sat with sore feet about the table.

Well, now onto other matters. News came not too long ago that Keltic Isle has a clutch open, Iris said as she sipped at her tea. Will we be adopting?

Yes. I have the perfect place for a dragon home in mind. Desiree pulled out a piece of paper from the pile. On the top the words Shinsai Valley were written in bold letters.

The Shinsai Valley, she said as a shiver ran down her back. Shinsai stood for earthquake destruction, an apt name for that valley. But that place is dangerous. Are you sure a dragon could live there? She set her cup down and looked into Desirees eyes.

Remember Iris, dragons are very adaptable. As long as we can find a guardian who will live there, then a dragon can also.

Now that you mention it, there have been rumors about that place, Iris picked up her teacup and sipped it once again.

Desiree looked up from her papers to ask Iris, What rumors? Her voice was heavy with worry, not wanting the home she had chosen to go to ruins so quickly.

Nothing bad, Iris said in response to the evident feelings on Desirees face. The rumors have been coming from the few dragons and guardians who were brave enough to even get close. They report seeing a person in the fire and destruction of the valley. Desirees face lightened once she found out the news was not bad.

Perhaps this person can be found. Maybe he would be interested in helping us?

Perhaps. Who will go?

I will, Desiree said quietly. I will take Yama with me. That unicorn is itching for an adventure, she finished with a small smile as she thought about the unicorn.

Sounds good, she set her cup down again. You finish up here, Desiree. Ill get everything set up for you and Yama for tomorrow.

Thanks, Desiree said as Iris stood and exited the small cottage. Desiree looked at the paper before her. The paper had very little writing because very few people had ventured into the Shinsai valley. It was dangerous, all knew that, but the place held a sense of mystery that made Desiree want to take the risk. It would make a perfect home for a dragon; it had everything a dragon would need. In the valley the four elements converged, providing everything the dragon would ever need. She pulled out a blank sheet and began to fill out the needed information about the future home.
