A chilling wind blows from the north, stinging your cheeks with a biting cold. You look into the wind, wondering where the cold wind is coming from. You are currently in a forest, trees surrounding all around you. Warm sunlight filters through the canopy, and the air about you vibrates with warmth. The biting cold wind is a stranger to the area around you, a stranger to the warmth about you.

The breeze of cold wind plays upon your mind, taunting you with knowledge that you do not possess. You look towards the north once again, wondering where this foreign wind is from, what it portends. You decide to look and see if you can find the answer on your own, maybe find out where the cold is coming from. So, you set off into the north, the warm sun above your head, following the small trail of the cold wind.

Soon the trees begin to fade out, becoming less frequent the more steps you take. The air becomes colder, and the warmth the sun shines off becomes more of a blessing than before. It seems that wherever the cold wind is blowing from will soon be in sight.

You crest the rise of a small hill, and the land now set before you is drastically different to the land behind you. Before you stretches a large plain, barren of most life. Only a few gnarled trees grow here and there, unable to grow very well in the bone-chilling cold that wafts up to you. In the distance you can see a faint hint of light blue, telling of something more than meets the eye. You decide, even though the cold makes your bones begin to ache, to find out what that blue hint is, and maybe discover the answer to the extreme cold.

You slip a few times as you make your way down the small hill, the ground unyielding in the cold. But soon you make it down, no cuts and bruises to mark your descent. You walk North, towards where you had seen the blue in the distance. The air begins to grow colder and the wind begins to blow even stronger. You soon wish that you had a cloak of some sort. The cold seems to tell you to turn back, to go back the way you came. But you ignore the cries of the wind, the pain of the cold, and continue onwards towards the mysterious hint of blue.

Eventually the ground seems as if every grain of sand were frozen together. The walking becomes slippery, making you walk slower to avoid falling. Clenching your teeth, you climb up a small hill in your path, hoping that you might get a good view of the land before you. And, as before, you see a new place which is different than the place behind you.

A giant lake is before you, tendrils of cold wafting into the sky. The top of the lake is frozen, and in some places are little iceburgs floating. Snow floats gently down and the lake's edge is covered in the small ice crystals. You look around the scene of winter, now knowing the source of the cold.

Looking around, though, the color red catches your eye. In a land of blue and white, you ask why there would be a flash of red. You skid down the hill and head towards the color, still present in your sight. And sure enough, your questions are answered. A woman in a blue dress, the color of ice, sits on the edge of the frozen lake, playing with the ice crystals. Even her pale skin and white hair blend into her icy surroundings, hiding her from the eyes of men. Only the red ribbon on her dress gives her position away.

Soon the woman notices you and stands up, and turns to talk to you.

"Hello, my name is Retsu. You have come from the Forest, correct?" She asks in a cold tone, not on purpose though. You nod your head in reply, wondering if this was another home for a dragon. She nods and takes you around a small bend in the path. Once you are fully around the bend you are confronted by a blue ice dragon.

"This is Mein." Retsu says as she scratches the dragon behind his ridges.
