Wow where to start... I think that i will start with my favorites:

as in the origional. none of this Bloodlust stuff, though thats not bad

been a while since I have seen this, but I own it so it must be good. A good story though you have to be in the right mood for it. If you want something to watch that is depressing and don't want to watch any of the other great dark anime watch this. Not on the top but still good.

Messed up out the wazoo but another amazing anime
Angel Sanctuary
Odd. That is definately one way to discribe this anime. Great animation and intersting story. Some cool stuff about the Seraphim and the Choir of Angels.
Grave of the Fireflies
every anime fan needs to see this. wow. just wow. depressing yes but the story and the animation are both phenominal.

Full Metal Alchemest
Need to see this. just do it. Though this is a litte deeper than most 'happy' anime, and is at times downright sad. Like the boys past. just sad. Still a must see.
Cosmopolitin Prayers
only in small doses. trust me on this.
Bottle Fairy
this in even smaller doses than cosprayers. Though is good for memorizing words for months and some small things about japanese culture. overall cute fest though.
R.O.D.
Also known as Read or Die, this is another impressive anime. uneque charecters and a fun and intersting plot. you cant help but love Miss Deep and Za Paper. Oh make sure you get the movie, not the tv series.

wow. This Anime is just beautiful, it's an interesting story concept, very uneque but the main reason to watch this is the art.
