I guess you could say that I have two families. My parents divorced when I was 17 and that split my family into two parts.
My mom, Maggi, is the most important part of my family to me. She has always supported me no matter what I do and she will always do that. With my mom comes my stepdad Alan. He's a very cool person who accepts both my mom and I for who we are. My mom and Alan were married on December 26, 2001. It was a very simple ceremony done downtown but it was very beautiful. We live in an apartment in El Cajon. Mom and Alan do almost everything together on the weekends -- whether it is going to the beach, going to the swapmeet, or just running around town. We also have three cats and two birds. Cujo is our oldest cat and seems to favor Alan. Thor is our second youngest cat and he is my baby -- he's not very smart but he's cuddly. Our third and youngest cat is Princess Penelope. Penny came to us through the San Diego Rescue Society. She is the kitten of a feral kitty and an absolute love. Our birds are Kanga and Roo -- both cockatiels.
The second part of my family consists of my father Vern and his girlfriend Diane. They both live in Escondido and we try to get together as schedules allow. They are busy people and I am a busy person so we don't always get to see each other as often as we might like. |
