I began this part of my life, working as a Faerie about 15 years ago now. I had a plan in my mind at the very beginning but how it was to transpire was in the hands of fate. Now 15 years later I am still enjoying my now passion. Working with Children. I guess  you have to love children and with a passion to do what I do and as often. I am a face artist at the bigger craft markets here in Melbourne Australia and I am proud that I /we have worked together as a team and within the stall holder community. It is here that I began and still doing it today. I dont conduct Faerie Parties but I show to the consumer what i actually 'do' in the way of a complete 'Faerie Shop' on wheels. I believe this concept to be the first ever in the world. Meaning offering, all costumes, wings, wands, gifts all hand made and designed by me. No middle 'man' here and offering another service in the way of Face Painting.Not Face Painting but more in the lines of Face Artistry...there in lies the difference. Its not your regular sort but delightful, individual, creative WOW factor designs that are so detailed that children insist on coming back for more. Then from there I decided to add Faerie Parties. This completes the threesome that marries well. Costumes that are so special and one offs, to Face Artistry with a difference and then home Faerie Parties.

Cost depends on where you live and there is up to a certain area and that is the base price then other costs are added on.
I have a minimum of 10 children and you can hire me for under that if you wish. I also only like it to be maximum of 16 children and each child after 10 must be paid for after that as an extra.
What do I supply or do?

Well first up I face paint the children's faces. The next 1.15 or so we are busy doing games, storytelling and b/day child gets to open their present and card. This is a special time for the b/day child as they love to be the centre of attention and the guests really focus on her/him. I talk about what they know about faeries and elves and all the relevance of butterflies to faeries. We talk about all sorts of things and then I do the story telling and get them all involved. Its very exciting. Another game is played and all the children by this time have received many things to take home. Lots actually!
I supply the balloons, lolly bags,drawing to take home, they make a wish, and every single child goes  home with more than one gift as they are all winners n grinners at my party. The birthday girl/boy receives a present too and a card.

Towards the end we do the Cake Ceremony and that is very special as well and whilst they are doing that i am blowing up balloons ready for the next part of the party and the end.
One of the lovliest things I think the children love is seeing their mothers and fathers helping in the ending. It gets parents involved and secretly the parents love it.
By the time we have done all this we have completed 2 to 2 1/2hrs of entertainment. Sadly it goes in a flash it seems but the children just love it and I am often asked to stay or sleep the night or indeed never to leave!

One special moment many years ago was when I did a Faerie party out past Ringwood here.  The hosts had a large Australian ranch house set in an acre of land I would say and this long house had a long veranda at the back with lattice work either end and along the walk way at the edge of the veranda was a rockery mainly greenery. I chose to sit them on the Faerie Rug I have at the end of this veranda and along were some close family members including the b/day girls father who had decided to film this day. I had talked about Butterflies and that they were actually Faeries in disguise for the day time for all to see as they ducked n dived around the gardens mostly and as I had postioned myself towards one of the end doors of the veranda to my amazement a Butterfly was flying in..almost on que. Look I said here is a butterfly a Faerie in disguise!!! It flipped and flapped its wings here and there and closely over the childrens heads nearly touching them. Wow and the giggles of delight. All being filmed by Dad. All of a sudden I said to the Butterfly come....come faerie sit on the rock beside me...and I pointed at the rock in which it to land. And low n behold this butterfly landed right on THAT rock!!! The children were besides themselves with glee and I was so excited that i said to the children maybe I could ask it to bring some more butterfly faeries along. I bent down and said it to the Butterfly and lo and behold it opened its wings and flew away. Wow! screamed the children. But this stage Dad cant believe it...Nan cant believe it and some of the mothers are gob smacked too...when all of a sudden, I looked up some one minute later and I sshhhed the children and said be still the Butterfly has brought another Butterfly. We were all aghasp and daring not to move a muscle their eyes were as big as dinasaur eggs..including all the adults and me. I asked them to sit on the same rock and they did it again. The children were even more amazed. I bent down again and asked them to bring more friends and instantly they went off and were no sooner back when I said ...wow theyre back!! and now there are four! Well I have to tell you there was no way on earth that i could not let this stop, it was tooo amazing for words and as you read this you may disbelieve but its all on video for all to see. It is FACT! By the end of this story telling session of which I am not sure if I ever got to tell we had encountered not one or two or three or four Butterflies but around ten. It seemed that they really did know what was going on. I still see these children from time to time and they have all grown up and in re meeting me again they remark again just how awesome that day was..and it was...wow.
I have many stories to tell and I can remember just about every party I have ever been too. Each party is unique and memorable like the second ever party I did and unbeknowns to me they had a baby duck some three months old and it had decided to join in the story telling. I hadnt seen it during the day but i was in the middle of a story where the King has to do something in order for him to bring back a certain thing to clear a spell when at that crucial moment of tenseness this little white duck appeared like magic quacking its way through all the children sitting on groundsheets. It was hilarious and the entire party were falling on the floor laughing as well as the adults so much so they all clapped n cheered! Ahh I have many stories that are so special and good that you would be here for days reading them all...but for now this is all I will share but for me all parties are unique and special.

Space a problem? Ahh no worries...i have done parties in half of single garages, i have done them at the back of shops, in special parks n gardens. You just have to make the most of what you have and i think i have got all this down to a fine art now.
The smiles on the childrens faces are enough thanks to tell me that they had a faerie good time!

Make sure that those who have petitions do the right thing.We need to save the Whales from the Japanese,Norwegians and the like from indiscriminate slaughtering.
Finding 'my 'child within most only wish they could do what I do but everyone can try and find their inner child for finding their inner child makes you youthful in thought word and deed. I am grateful for all who have shared my passion and love of children.
