~The Night~
Happiness that's folded under
Waves of lightning and its thunder
Disturbing my pleasant slumber
In a far away fairy tale
Shivers in a sleep so deadly
Innocuous quiet medley
Braced my thoughts and laid there readily
For a nightmare that shan't fail
Waves of panic eat away now
Unconscious pains my brain allow
How to stop: I do not know how
All twisted to fearless gale
Mocking demons keep on teasing
My deep breaths turn into wheezing
Melting thoughts demons find pleasing
Overtaking, they now hale
Sweat now dripping from my forehead
Wrapped around me sheets from my bed
Demons race to make sure I'm dead
Wicked thoughts in my head flail
Sun now rising through my window
Eyelids shutter, they still grin though
What a slumber I have been through!
Tomorrow shall they not prevail!
