~An English Project~

She kept me after class for this one... Heh...

It seems like it would be hard to conceive
Concise, though not nice, you have to believe
You’ll burn and then learn what it means to bereave
Swallow and wallow in pain you receive

But the world will hold tight in its own beliefs
You’ll fight the dark night but continue to reef
Fall down and be bound to this chronic grief
Stand tall behind walls to make this pain brief

My hands try to help so you will not slip
Daring, yet caring as I tighten my grip
Careful and fearful as I hold while I trip
From your cries and my eyes tears slowly drip

And now at the mountain we’d fail to see
Our eyes hide, although wide; it just couldn’t be!
It’s too strong and too long for you or for me
This last wane and last pain will now set us free
