People are coming hitting this site looking for info on this obscure Swedish band that peaked in 2000, so I'll share what I know-- Ibold Train has a few songs being passed around the filesharing networks mislabeled as weezer songs. That's how I found them, and it's still very much the case.
I'm a big fan of their songs "A Song About You" and "I Wish I Could Touch You." The former is a soft-ballad, backed by what I think is a melodeon (accordion-like instrument), and acoustic guitar. The latter, a power-pop ballad in the mold of Weezer.
I had put a complementary message about the band on this site, and one day their frontman "Magnus" left a message on my message board, "Thanks for liking us." I e-mailed him to ask what the status of the band was, and he told me the band had broken up. He wanted to get more serious, and so had formed a new band that was called High Jumping Jack.
Ibold Train's official website is now long gone, and MP3.com, which had hosted their songs, just recently shut down after it was purchased by CNET.com in 2004. I have Magnus' e-mail address- if anyone wants to try contacting him, let me know, I'll pass it on.
