The Real Story
love? i've never heard of it

Ah. Peter Pan, the story that will live on in all of us for eternity. The story of Neverland, of the pirates, of the pixies but most of all of Peter and Wendy. Now as most of you undoubtedly know, Wendy ends up going home to the Darling Residence along with John and Michael and of course the Lost Boys. Peter only returning once a year to take Wendy away for spring cleaning, and a week later he'd return with her, this went on for three or four years until finally Wendy didn't return from her spring cleaning. And once again Mrs. Darling sat by the window for weeks without end, never allowing anyone to shut it in case her lovely daughter decided to return, but in her heart she knew Wendy wasn't coming home.

Mrs. Darling went on with raising the boys, all of them growing up and going to offices every morning. And still after all those years Wendy hadn't returned. Mrs. Darling was growing older now, and Mr. Darling had already passed by the time Wendy returned only for a brief visit. She returned in the middle of the night, laying her head upon her mother's bed for a few moments before stroking the elderly woman's face to awake her. When Mrs. Darling opened her eyes she saw Wendy, still a young woman of the mere age of seventeen, a beautiful young woman.

"Oh Mother, I'm so sorry, but Peter he does need a mother so badly." Wendy cried, unable to keep her sobs under control. But her mother remained silent the weathered hands coming to rest upon Wendy's young ones.

"Then go darling, go be with Peter, I'm no good as a mother anymore, and I'm sure you're being a wonderful mother to Peter and his new lost boys." Mrs. Darling's words were slow yet wise and Wendy nodded, laying a kiss upon her mother's soft cheek before fleeing to the window. And without another word she was gone, off to Neverland once more.

Peter never had changed, he was still as young and imp like as ever, of course when Wendy had returned to Neverland and Peter had seen how she changed, and he begged Tinker Bell to help him. Help him become just a bit older, old enough to be the same as Wendy. Of course his outside changed, he grew taller and his features a bit older, his voice even a bit deeper, but still no beard and he was still as young at heart as ever. Still as brave and happy go lucky but ever since Hook died it wasn't exactly that much fun to fight Pirates, none of them really put up a fight. So he occupied himself other ways, going to London and such places to find more Lost Boys and Girls to bring home to the Home Underground. Wendy taking care of the lost boys and girls, while still living in the house that the original Lost Boys had made for her, that was now high upon the top of the trees.

And while Peter has yet to realize that he truly does have feelings and emotions Wendy waits for him patiently, still as in love with him as ever. Peter doesn’t and probably never will understand why exactly Wendy came back to him and Neverland, and why she’s so patient with him. Although he does know that he must be lucky, he finds that he can make Wendy cry a hell of a lot more than make her happy, or so he believes. But Neverland has changed over the few years that have passed. Peter and Wendy have grown up, despite their feelings about it and though Peter can decide that he isn’t going to school or to work, he can’t decide or change his feelings towards Wendy, even if they are a bit blurry right now.
