And We have made from water every living thing.
Koran ( 21: 30)

Not only the thirsty seeks  the water,
the water as well seeks the thirsty.
Rumi

I heard your voice in every rustling breeze;
The snow, the grass were lovely veils for you;
I dived into the ocean without shore:
The lustrous pearls reflected only you.
Seawater begs the pearl...
to break its shell.
Think on the streams that are born in the desert after a sudden storm, and the roaring sound of the waters as they rush past. Truly, this is the voice of God, if you did but know it.
(Saying 108, Gospel of Thomas)
"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people to collect wood and  don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for  the endless immensity of the sea."
      - Antoine de Saint Exupery
A wave does not have to die in order to become water.
Water is the substance of the wave. The wave is already water.
We are also like that.
Highest good is like water.
Because water excels in benefiting the myriad creatures without
Contending with them and settles where none would like to be,
It comes close to the way.
The highest good is like water.
Water give life to the ten thousand things and does not strive.
It flows in places men reject and so is like the Tao
let the water settle;
you will see the moon and stars
mirrored in your being
I do not cease swimming in the seas of love, rising with the
wave, then descending; now the wave sustains me, and
then I sink beneath it; love bears me away where there is
no longer any shore.
(Diwan al-Hallaj)
"How many words the world contains! But all have one meaning. When you smash
the jugs, the water is one"
Rumi
To say "I am God"
is to attempt to put the ocean inside the drop.
To say "everyone is God" is the same.
The lover is wandering around the dew and the spring season.
The ascetic is going about rosaries and bowing.
He is quick for bread and this other one for "water."
This one has been thirsting
for love and that one
    grieving about hunger!
The Self is the center, circumference and organizing principle of  the total personality
It dwells in the deep waters of the ocean, unseen and therefore not conscious to the human ego.

Oh, modern Israel, hear this: "For My people have done a twofold wrong:
They have forsaken Me, the Fount of Living Waters, And hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, Which cannot even hold water." Jeremiah 2:13
"Have you observed the water you drink?
Is it you or Us who shed it from
the rain-bearing clouds?
If We willed, We verily could make it salt and undrinkable, why then do you not give thanks?"
Koran (56:68-70)
As the flowing rivers disappear in the sea,
losing their name and their form,
thus a wise man, freed from name and form,
goes to the divine Person,
who is greater than the great.

Mundaka Upanishad
In His will is our peace: it is the sea
into which all currents and all streams
empty themselves, for all eternity."

~DANTE

before you set out for the path of Love, you must be prepared to cross the great and deep
waters of the unconscious ,immerse your will with the will of the Self.
The old pond;
A frog jumps in ...
The sound of water.
