Soru

Personality:

Soru personifies the phrase "Speak lightly, but carry a big stick." He rarely talks, engages in conversation, or even gestures towards others. He listens, waits, and thinks constantly...preferring to observe rather than act, that is...until the moment is right. Soru is always planning and formulating strategies. He has no fear or quandry about killing. To him, these things are unneccessary as a warrior, and that is exactly what Soru is...a "straight to the bone" warrior...a no-nonsense soldier born from the battlefields. Not only does he execute orders given to him to the letter, he provides no leniency one way or another. If you are to die by his sword or if he is to die by yours, then that is how it will be.

History:

Soru Katsumoto was born a noble of Sereitei. He lived through his mediocre life like others of his class. He became a Shinigami and moved up the ranks as was to be expected of him. However one day, everything changed. Soru did some terrible act and had his memories removed and was banished to live a human life on Earth until he eventually died and returned to Rukongai as a peasant. He doesnt recall what happened to him or even that he was previously banished...Nothing but faint images and whispers remain in his crippled mind.

While on Earth he lived the life of a ronin during the Fuedal Japan era, a samurai with no allegiance, but not by his own choice. No lord would take him in because of his visions, his horrible unending nightmares. He had memories that resurfaced from his previous life. Images of blood and violence filled his mind, numbing his soul to the point of insanity. Eventually he was cast out of Kamakura as a mad man and eventually hunted down and killed like a stray dog. Soru returned to Rukongai upon his death at the hands of a soldier's mob, the very same people who were supposed to be his allies.

Even there, among those of low standings he was cast aside as trash. Everyone knew about him, about his banishment, about the things he did...but it was put into law that no one speak of it. Eventually he found that he grew hungry, starving even...but the academy would never accept him, not one who was thought so little of. He lived in agony for years only eating what he could steal until one fateful day when he was adopted into the very same family he was born to so long ago. Of course he has no recollection of that fact, and he still to this day...even after graduating the academy...doesnt know why the noble family of Katsumoto took him in. However to him, he thinks of it as his one and only opportunity to prove just how wrong the whole of Sereitei was about him. Maybe during his ventures he will unwittingly uncover the terrible secrets of his past...

Techniques:

Sealed Shikai
A rare few Shinigami never bother finding out the name of their Zanpakuto, eventually when they reach a certain level of power, their Zanpakuto spirit vanishes, all that remains is a standard looking katana with no guard, the length of the blade is jagged instead of sharp.

A reiatsu of 15,000 is required to achieve a Full-Time Sealed Zanpakuto, a shinigami that passes that point can achieve a substantial amount of power from the vanishing of their spirit, the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by two in a half times (x2.5) permanantly. The draw back is the shinigami can never get shikai abilities, or achieve the standard bankai, they can only hope to survive until they can achieve what is known as a Sealed Bankai.
Experience Cost: 75

Sealed Bankai
The few Shinigami that never bothered finding out the name of their Zanpakuto, find themselves hard pressed to survive to this state of power, but those that do find out the truth of it, their Zanpakuto spirit is silenced forever, still their Zanpakuto is a standard looking katana with no guard, the length of the blade is jagged instead of sharp.

A reiatsu of 200,000 is required to achieve a Sealed Bankai, a shinigami that passes that point can achieve a substantial amount of power from the silence of their spirit, the user's reiatsu, kidou, skills, and hits are multiplied by an additional seven in a half times (x7.5) permanantly. The draw back is the shinigami can never get shikai abilities, or achieve the standard bankai.
Experience Cost: 300 (or 225 if you have Sealed Shikai)
