Mon. Sept. 29, at 10:50am

So here I am back at university. I went home for the weekend for Amanda's par-tay (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!), and did a bit of shopping. Plus a lot of studying. I will be totally unreachable this week because of my midterm, 3 labs, journals and essay... ahhhhh... stupid school. I found a solution around my MSN problem, but it involves 3 system upgrades (I'm way overdue) and a good 2 hours of work... so that won't be done until this weekend at the earliest, if ever. I think Homecoming is this weekend, so I will be going to that! KILL WESTERN! Hehehe...

Thurs. Sept. 25, at 11:07pm

Well everybody, my day's turned shitty. The big highlight was the little error message that popped up in my MSN saying "You need to download the latest version of MSN Messenger to continue". So I went to msn.com, saw the latest version, saw the system requirements... they're not for my computer. My computer's too old. And I can't get a new system for free. So goodbye everyone, I won't be talking to any of you unless you still use ICQ, which none of you do. Hopefully I'll see you at commencement.

Yes, I'm actually working right now, but I came across this interesting article about a fifth grade class being forced to listen to Radiohead and then drawing what they felt. Really, really interesting. Especially the picture with the "Free Suicide" sign... enjoy.

Wed. Sept. 24, at 2:10pm

Huzzah! Done school today at 11:30 because my three hour Inquiry class was cancelled.. :D Sweet deal. So nothing is really new here, except I'm hanging out a bit more with people I've only just met. This is so easy for some people, but DIFFICULT for others (like me). Miles, Chris, Martha, Vinay, Zoe and Mike are in my psychobio and 5 of us are in Hedden. My bio lab partner Mark is just great. He's also in my Psychobio tutorial, and loves such things as Matt Good, badminton, and high marks. Lol, all of us in hth sci are like that... So yes, I'm proud of myself for finally meeting people. For some of you, you were already going out with people in your first day, but for us shy ones, it's hard meeting new people (I think that's a Radiohead quote there...). So yeah, I'm finally fitting in. Pat and I are getting along much better, but I really need to get my work done before 2am, because she goes to bed at 11. Ahh! I can't wait to see you guys at commencement! Opal, get an answering machine so I can leave a message!!! BTW, we're in the evening! And the OACs are in the afternoon! HAHAHAHA!

Mon. Sept. 22, at 11:23pm

O jeez, I have so much work to do, but I really don't care. I'm actually in a good mood, compared to the rest of the weekend. I had a good lab partner in bio today, and even tho our TA screwed up our lab, we had good conversations and basically concluded school sucks. It doesn't really, but you know... school's school. I really feel at home here more and more every day. I'll be here a straight week and 5 days this Friday, my longest stretch away from home ever! But I love it here. The only thing that sucks is the toilet paper. It's so crappy. We had a 2 and a half hour badminton practice last nite, with 140 people!!! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I met 3 upper years, all great players. Band is challenging, but great because the pieces are beautiful. One's a funeral march... but it's still pretty. Maybe some people can come here when we have a concert. That would be amazing. Anyhoos, the weather was crappy today, and I'm tired of working on Psychobiology, but I need to get back to it... arrrr.... bye!

Sat. Sept. 20, at 1:21am

It's nice to have a room to myself again... Pat went home for the weekend, so it's a party in 365. Even tho it's really not :) Because you know, I'm not much of a party-er. So what's new? People are still up, the place is pretty busy still. Quiet hours on weekends start at 2am, lol... There's this guy above me and one room over with what I swear are car speakers. I stood outside his door and heard the thing vibrate on its hinges. FORTUNATELY, I can't hear him from where I sleep. So today we had a mini-tropical storm, which was NOT good. It involved me and Sheppy fighting our way to 8:30 chemistry and getting totally soaked. My umbrella died in about 2 seconds. I should take a picture of it, it's pretty funny. Pat and me got a leak, then found out we just didn't close the right window... we felt pretty stupid :) I got my first official stalker today. He called me 3 times in one hour... next time he calls, I don't answer... all I did was help him with a geology lab. Yumi's got a stalker too, or so she says... :) Everybody went home except me, Spaky, Brian and Sheppy. So I don't have much to do except work. Which is a lot in itself. I don't know exactly how much I should be doing. I just went by the study rooms (about 12:45am) and there were still people studying there on a Friday nite. It's crazy. So I don't know where I should be gauging myself here. Currently, I'm just doing what's due, or assigned stuff. No extra reading >_< Which is really bad. Anyhoos, I had my first chem lab yesterday. It was just about the worst thing I've ever done, while being one of the funniest things I've ever done. I had a piece of copper that would not dissolve, so I added twice the amount of acid, got it all over my hand (fortunately we had gloves), and covered it all up with excessive test tubes. Hehehe... I had stuff EVERYWHERE. My end reaction had things that weren't supposed to be there, so I hid them under piles of copper powder.. it was sooo bad... but sooo funny. I ended up with a line across my forehead from my goggles that didn't go away until today. In short, chem labs are fun, but murder. I look forward to the next one :) Nothing else is really new... lots of BHSc stuff, I made the concert band (Elliot, Dorita, and Robyn are also in it. Go LP people.) and I have badminton on Sunday. Tim's going to stop by tomorrow! Huzzah! I still am decorating my room, I'll get a pic up soon of my poster wall whenever it gets done. By the way, I'm making a new site, fake plastic dreams. It's in the works... bye!

Fri. Sept. 12, at 4:18pm

Wha! So I finished school at 9:30 today, which is a pretty sweet Friday schedule. I'm off to my cottage very soon, but I'm posting two more pics of my faculty. I love it so much! We even have cheat sessions on Thursday to get perfect on the online Chem quizzes :) Hehehe... I'll write more next week.

This is the point where I fell in love with Hth Sci

We're taking on Arts and Sci here, our arch enemies.

Sun. Sept. 7, at 11:35pm

Whoa, I haven't updated in so long! It's probably because Frosh Week (excuse me, Welcome Week) only just ended, and I seriously have had no time to just update. I'm home right now, I came back last nite and am leaving for my class tomorrow morning. Where do I start? I guess on my room/roomate, which are both really good. My room is bigger than most doubles in Hedden, therefore we are the envy of all the triples that populate Mac. Thank God I'm not in one. Spaky's, V's, and Sheppy's room is so tiny for the three of them. I'm sleeping by the window, and have made the place officially home with posters, decorations, pictures, my computer stuff, and tons of other crap. It's very quiet where I am because we're at the end of the North wing, and next to a bathroom and a triple of girls. The bathrooms in my rez are amazing, because even tho they're not private for your room, they are single washrooms, meaning you can lock the door when you take a shower/go to the bathroom. There's 3 bathrooms for 4 rooms, and in our section, that's only 8 people. So I love my rez. I'm not too fond of the people on my floor, they're all party-animals, but I love 5th floor (I'm on third) because there's a lot of Health Science students there, and I love my faculty. We're just a bunch of nerds (all 160 of us!), which makes me feel right at home. I've met so many people from BHSc, including Melinda (remember her, Jude?). Therefore I absolutely LOVE my faculty. I've met two guys, one exactly like Paul Kawai, and one exactly like Tim, therefore it really does feel like home. I like my roommate Patricia. Shes nice, and sleeps a lot. I'm happy about that :) She's more into the partying, but when she partys, she does it somewhere else. Studying is a different matter. Because it is rez, it's noisy, despite the fact I'm in a quiet section. We have study rooms in the basement, so I think I will be using them. Our common room is great too. Basically I just love the place. Mac itself is amazing. The food is SOOOOOO good. I'd better watch what I eat, or I will gain so much weight. In terms of classes, all will be great except Bio first term, which has a crappy teacher. He didn't even introduce himself or tell us what course it was, he just taught us an entire chapter in the first class. Jerk. Oh well, I love my Hth Sci courses. Those will make up for crappy Bio. My classes are huge. Bio and Chem are 500 people, Psychobio is 180, Geology is 200, but Hth Sci Inquiry is only 20. Nice :) We have to be test subjects for hypnosis in Psychobio to gain extra marks. Therefore I will be volunteering a lot! Welcome Week has been amazing. Sunday nite every frosh was on the football field playing so many games that just made me feel better about going there. I was really sad when my mom left me after I moved in, but after Sunday, I have been loving it. Wars between faculties and rez's are SO MUCH FUN. Imagine 2000 people charging each other, yelling "SPIRIT SPIRIT, YES WE DO. WE HAVE SPIRIT, HOW BOUT YOU?" and then it just turns into a riot. Engineers are every faculty's enemies, because they're so rude and loud. Brandon (Brian's, Vishis and Sushs rez) is every rez's enemey because they're just so big. I loved faculty day because all the BHSc students played games like Medic, and Doctor (hehe, so Hth Sci) and took on faculties like Engineering (900 people) by ourselves, cheering "HALF OF YOU WILL FAIL!". Oho... I loved the wars. Theory of a Deadman played Tuesday nite. They where alright, but in the words of the Engineers, they were "Theory of a NickleCreed". We've had outdoor movies (Matrix Reloaded and Anger Managment), comedians from Yuck Yucks, hypnotists, casinos, Ikea trips, socials, bar trips, pajama marchs, gigantic Twister games and dance lessons to learn the moves in Like Glue. Saturday nite was Kazzer, Bif Naked and Treble Charger, which I was front for. It was a great concert that lasted until 1:30am. MTV Campus Invasion is coming later in September I think. I absolutely love it at Mac. I miss everyone tho :( I will be coming home a lot (as you can see) because I have only one class on Friday that ends at 9:30am. If you're coming home, tell me! I can probably see you! Anyhoos, I need some sleep for classes tomorrow. I hope everyone's having a great time where they are, and I will see you all at Commencement! Which is right in the middle of midterms! HUZZAH!

Thurs. Aug. 21, at 2:00am

Here I am again, staying up so late because I've been sleeping in late. I think my biological clock has shifted a tinge this summer. I now go to bed at 5, and get up at 12. I always get tired at like, 1, go off to try and sleep, can't sleep, and then come back on the computer. If only this had happened at the beginning of summer! Not now with only a week or so left! Yesterday was Nowak's pool par-tay, which was muchos fun. I had a great time. It was sad tho because as I was hugging Beck goodbye, I realized I wasn't going to see him, and probably many others, until commencement. And after that, Christmas. And after that, next summer... so I actually got teary-eyed. Hopefully, ICQ, MSN, e-mail and phones won't fail us. Anyhoos, tonite I was extremely proud of myself to FINALLY learn how to download files off an mIRC server, namely #videopimp, my new best friend. No more crappy kazaa music videos for me. I'm videopimpin' all the way... lol... Oho... insert Alison singing P.I.M.P. here... I also spent the nite learning about proxy servers, SOCKS, NAT firewalls and getting mad at my router. What a fun nite. I'm actually not being that sarcastic, it wasn't a bad nite. I also spent the day throwing out school work from the past 7 years, and laughing at my english notes, which were distroyed. It was funny to see Mr. Tomlinson's notes from Gr. 10 Science, and horrible to see projects from Mr. Tauer... uck. Well, that's all I got to say. Cha!

Mon. Aug. 18, at 10:21pm

So Heather's life got a little crappier... I'm sure most of you have heard that the Radiohead concert was canceled due to the power outage, and is to be "rescheduled" for a later date. But by looking at their tour date schedule, they're only available in September. Let's hope it's on a weekend... I was so upset, it was the thing I was looking forward to the most this summer. If I somehow miss this concert, someone with die... seriously... :) But yes, now I'm reading over some of their previous setlists, and listening to some songs, and hoping for such songs as Scatterbrain, No Surprises, Parinoid Android, Where I End and You Begin, I Will, Fake Plastic Trees, How to Disappear Completely, You and Whose Army?, Sail To The Moon, and of course, Street Spirit [Fade Out]. Now I can get all excited for the concert again... Btw, Marta, they say the word "Crak-il-lakin" (I don't know the spelling) in the remix of P.I.M.P.... lol... it actually does exist...

Fri. Aug. 15, at 9:02pm

So I haven't updated in a while... I guess I haven't wanted to. A general sense of lethargy has crept up on me these past 15 days... nothing much has happened actually. I've just been reading, getting back into Gameboy, going out with Jeremey, and going to my cottage. The most exciting part was probably yesterday when Jeremey and I got stuck downtown for 4 hours when the power went out with no way to get home. It was pretty horrible. Our entire anniversary was ruined, we never got to go out to dinner, and of course the Lion King was canceled. It was a pretty awful day, but it was not something we could control. Union was bad, because there was no air inside, no trains, and only certain payphones were working, which we had to line up to use. We sat on the platform for an hour waiting for a train along with the hundreds of other people. First, they told us they didn't even know where the trains were because they couldn't contact them without power. Then they said "We are not providing service anymore." No trains, no buses, no subways. So everyone was stranded. We then had to run to get through the Skywalk, which they were locking up, and wait for another hour for Mr. Nelson to pick us up. But swimming later on was much appreciated! I enjoyed the blackout from then on, because it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the stars like that from the city. And driving in a pitch black town was pretty neat too. I slept downstairs where it was cooler, and was woken up by every light going on and the fridge at 5 am when the power came back on. Now I'm hot because we're not using the ac, which is the right thing to do I guess. ANYHOOS, it was an experience I'll never forget, and hopefully Jeremey, we can schedule our anniversary date for another time. On a brighter note, THE RADIOHEAD CONCERT IS TOMORROW!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED, YOU HAVE NO IDEA. I'm really hoping it won't be canceled because of all the power stuff....
