It's day two of the search for a better rock tumbler. I had some interesting moments today, watching rocks burn, fall, shatter..... I suppose I should start with the basics. I dropped some rocks from a ladder. It was amazing. Before and after pictures (count the rocks)

Three rocks dissapeared! Amazing! But not what we wanted at all! So what now huh? Time for a meat tenderizing hammer.

None of them broke or chipped as far as I could tell. It wasn't really very effective unfortunately. Maybe some fire? Sure, let's have some fire.

Somehow putting the rocks in a pan and lightin the burner did not "tumble" the rocks at all. Did you know? I would've guessed that was a winner right there. Maybe more direct contact with the fire?

After that the rocks were kind of blackish...but not really much more tumbled than before. I was getting depressing. So I took one out onto the back porch and hit it with a hammer.

It broke in two, and not only that, but the entire world was blurry at the exact moment of picture taking.

It was a fun day all in all, but after reviewing the rocks, seven of the original ten remaining, I have determined that none of these methods were at all effective. Just wait a few more days, I'll make it work!
