The Planet Akira: The home of the
descendants of Akir. Akir was a
merchant's son who was raised in
a
monastery in one of the Lambdi
zone
colonies. He was captain of a
cargo ship
transporting refugees
to a U.P.U camp
when disaster
struck the ship, causing
them to
crash land on a dead world. The
only survivors were Akir and three
others. With Akir as leader, they
established themselves as a
community. The planet Akir was
equipped with a small space shuttle
system, designed to transport
weather scientists to and from the
weather station in orbit. A hidden
hanger in the side of a plateau hides
an
antique Spaceship belonging to
an aging
warrior named Zed.
Tarkasia:The
Tarkasians are famous
for their ship
building, most worlds in
the sector use
ships sold by the
Tarkasians.
TheTarkasians where the
closest thing to
a resistance to the
Malmori armada. The
Tarkasian
Knights helped in the
establishment
of the new
Corsair,supplying weapons,
ships,
personel, uniforms ect.
The Valkyrie:
The Valkyrie are a
matriarchal,
excesively hedonistic
society.Homeworlds
are Vol na'ka,
Vilmor, Volon,Volterra.
The Valkyrie.
The Valkyrie race was guided
into
planetary dominance by their Queen
Crotack and an entity named
Gastone.
Gastone eventually saw fit to
grant the
Valkyrie the knowledge for
space
travel even at their primitive
cultural
state.
The Valkyrie began herding darpa
tykes into cargo ships that were
quickly constructed and found a
remunerative buyer in the Lambda
Zone
Lazuli.
The Valkyrie do not usually
die of
natural causes nor do they
phisically
age beyond twenty or thiry
years old.
They are mortal beings yet
they have
the natural capability for
living
indefinatley providing they are
not
killed in a violent manner or by
accident.
The Valkyrie growth is
excelerated in the
third rotation of the
planet. When a
human child is four years
old a Valkyrie
is only eight rotations
old but appears
to be twelve years old by
human
standards. They mature to adulthood
quickly and remain phisically vibrant
as long as they live.
Young Exmin's exploits were legendary
throughout the Valkyrie worlds. Tho
many consider them exaggerated
beyond belief. Her heroic, violent and
tawdry escapades and adventures will
be told to generations of Valkyrie
youths for decades to come.
The Lambad Zone: A reptilian species
known as the Lazuli (La-ZOO-Lee).
The Lambda Zone are cannibalistic
and very religious. Apearently the
Lambda zone live a very ritualistic
lifestyle. While the rituals vary from
tribe to tribe their cannibalism rituals
remain the same on all Lambdazone
worlds. Almost any Lazuli citizen can
expect to be selected as a meal.
The tribal priest selects the sacrifice
at random while blindfolded. No one on
the planet outside the monistaries is
exempted. The Lambda Zone believe it
is a great sign of respect to consume
another sentient creature in a polite
ceremonious style. But it is better to
consume ones enemies head first and
with little formalities as a sign of insult
to the victom and his heritage and
ancestors. Sending the consumed
remains to his or her people is a sign of
honor if the scull is put back together
neatly. And the body is set in a respectful
position. For example in one instance
a group of visiting envoys was returned
to their embassy station cramed into
their spaceship's waste extraction
receptacle. While their murders was
offensive enough the placement of
their remains gave the desired effect.
But to the Lambdazone the main
offensive deed was they way the
skulls were left broken and placed in
a
waste refuse device.
Lazuli have
annual celebrations called
Holku Holack
Krell and Trenya Krena
Krell. The
translation roughly means
Day of the
Krell, feast on small Krell.
The
Lazuli were radically affected by an
alien race known as the Krell and were
brought out of their stone age directly
into interplanetary space travel. The
Krell vanished from the Lazuli as fast
as
they arrived, while many
manuscripts show
the Krell to be
benevolent teaching and
friendly. The
more resent writings tell
stories of a
mass slaughter of the Krell
and
glorious banquets lasting years with
the Krell being the main
course.
The Lazuli homeworlds are
Agamidia
Lacertidia, Lacerta agilia,
Teiid IV,
Agility VI, Varan
III.Heaphaestues
The Heaphaestues
Station:The massive
Heaphaestues Station
is over 2451,82
meters long. This space
station was built
by the Tarkasians and
was abandoned
after the Malmori uprising.
It remained un
noticed by the Malmari
warlord Sador
because of it's nominal
military value and
power signature.
The Great Ones:The most outstanding
Corsair squadron was known as the
Great ones by their
admirers.
The Hammer Head:The Battle
ship
was originally part of the U.P.U
fleet,
It was a prototype designed with a
huge forward hanger that can serve
as a cannon placement or a massive
cargo area.
The Fall of the UPU:The Key of the fall
of the U.P.U was the assassination of
the prime minister and the supreme
commander of the Corsair. The lone
assassin may have been known only
as
Gelt.
The Corsair: An elite group of
warriors
selected to protect the U.P.U.
Prominent
members of the Corsair: Dr
Heaphaestues,
Suprem Commander Urisken,
Uba, Zed,
Ziz.
The U.P.U: The United Planets Union is
sort of like the united nations of earth. It
is meant as a Gathering of worlds to
discus trade and peace, but at times it
seemed to be a bit overreaching in it's
charter. Many member sought to limit
personal freedoms,planetary sovereignty
etc.
Bronaff: The Bronaff are a highly
technological culture. They managed to
keep the Malmori out of their sector for
the longest time. The Bronaff suffered
great losses in the process.
Stellar
Converter:A device developed by
Tarkasian
scientists to stabilize the liquid
G
cloud that protects the Malmori worlds
from radiation from the pulsar. The
Converter was considered a failure and
was to be disasembled. Other plans to help
the Malmori was bogged down in committee.
Capture grid:A security device, designed
to prevent humanoid escapes,can be
easily disabled by an androids EM field.
Counting Coo:In most primitive cultures
there is often the neeed to express bravery.
And counting Coo is a tradition that
survived the warrior race of the Valkyrie,
even in their space going ages. Surprisingly
the Malmori's use of this tradition ended
long
before they went into
space.
Mack laser: A hand held energy
weapon in
postal fashion. A larger
version is under
development.
Zimer: Beings who consume
other boilogicals
for nurishment or
protein. often refered to as
carnivores
in other parts of the Galaxy. galaxy.
Craytine Crystals: A rare jewel found in
planetoids in the Red Nebula. Also plutonium
239, and camiun were found here.
Camium:Valuable liguid traided in sealed vials
as curency for example not long ago four vials
could buy you three months rent on Mailyah
Resort world, or two Nailki slaves.
Nailkia: An Abandoned world, ravaged by the
Malmori pirates long before the uprising
and
before Sador took power.The Nailki
survive
as slaves and are scattered
througout the
quadrant. Their current
generation is not
aware of their past
cultures
accomplishments.
The Malmori: The Malmori were pilgrims
that colonized several worlds in a region
of space known as the free zone. A spacial
rift deposited a pulsar into a gass cloud
that boarders Malmori space. Once the
gass cloud began to fade, the
civilization
fell apart. The people
became scavengers
dregs of the galaxy.
The Tarkasian
scientists were
commissioned to help the
Malmori but the
project failed.
Shad: Shad was a young
Akirian boy.
citizen of the agricultureal
world of Akira.
Not satisfied with the
life as a farmer, yet
proud of his
peoples cultural
accomplishments.
Shad enjoyed listening
to Zed as he
told story's of his exploits on
the
frontier. Zed began teaching Shad to fly
his ship Nell, an old Corsair warship. The
Ship was designed to fight and carry troops
weapons and supply's. Shad took Nell on
serveral joy rides to the nearby dead planets,
exploring the ruins and imagining the battles
that took place there. Shad in his later years
was also an accomplished carpenter and
writer. He maried Nanelia shortly after
the
battle for Akira and had four
children. Shads
son joined the new
Corsair and became a
great defefender of
the civilized worlds.
Gelt:Son of a
banished Trikalyian prince.
He was raised
on a remote world on the
Lambda zone
boarder. Trained by his
father's personal
instructor to be a warrior
king. When his
attempt to regain his fathers
throne
failed he went into business for
himself
after killing many of his fathers
personal enemies.
