Throwback: Burning Bridges & Building Walls 7" (S.U.P.O. Records)

By Tuomas Koskinen

Wow! Throwback from Oulu hits like a hammer with their debut EP!

I've read that they play the same kind of stuff like old Integrity and Skitsystem, but I've never heard those bands so I won't give any comments on that, but I can tell you this is really heavy hardcore. The sounds are kind of crusty (once again I'm talking with terms I'm not so sure of). Somehow this reminds me of the hc legend Bastards. The singer growls angry as fuck. The guitars have a lot of distortion. The drummer beats OK and the bass is somewhere too. It's hard to say why I like this so much because they didn't do anything special. Or maybe it's the honesty of them that I like so much.

Lyrics are about injustice in life, not really political stuff. I wouldn't say that they are really distinctive but at least they seem to be honest. The lyrics fit damn well with the music.

I think I shouldn't admit this, but the paper the lyrics are on smells odd, like soap or something...

If you're looking for something angry, heavy, and hardcore you shouldn't miss this one.
