Reagan Youth was a band what I always wanted to hear, and when I saw this CD in distro, I decided to buy it. Actually, it was a toss up between Kill Your Idols or this one, but the guy who runs the distro (some of you may know him, Janne from Endstand) recommended this one. Did I make the right decision? Hell yeah! This one really rocks!
Some narrow-minded-teen-drunk-punks might get pissed off by the first song: the chorus goes: "Regan youth! Hail hail hail! Regan youth! Seig Hail!,� but those who understand humour will get good laughs out of it. RY is NOT a nazi-band (the cover-art is a picture of the band in KKK clothes), they are just making fun of those pricks.
The lyrics are really good; they're little bit political but not too preachy.
RY plays really tightly and I think these guys know how to use their instruments. They're musically old-school-punk/hardcore like Black Flag etc�
Songs like �Reagan Youth,� �No Class,� �I Hate Hate,� and �Degenerated� are classics. I can say "I Hate Hate" made me think more positive and all negative-thinking people who hate everything should hear this song. �Degenerated� reminds me of a couple of guys I know and I'm sure all of you will unfortunately know someone like Johnny (a guy in the song).
The first nine songs are true old-school killer but after that the songs turn more progressive. I would not go so far as to say they're not good, but rather, more difficult and I guess too complicate for a simple sXe guy like myself. But like I said, the first 9 songs are total killers so this record is worth a prize.
