This time I wont write so much shit about how I bought records etc. Just pure impact.
The first band was semi-legendary KVELEV RK. I was interested to hear them since singer, Eskelinen, signed our guestbook. To be honest, they werent really good. They were quite lame, except for their bass player who put in some action, jumped and played with energy. But Kvelev Rk wasnt really awful either. I think their songs are an interesting mix between oi! and punk rock and theres not many bands who play that kind of stuff (at least here in Finland). When I met Mr. Eskelinen after the gig he said that they practiced only once before the gig and before that they hadnt practiced in a couple of months so that explains why they were quite lame. More energy and we will have good shit!
After Kvelev Rk, stage was CREEPY CRAWLIEs. CC is almost an all-girl band, only one player is a guy. Well, it doesnt really matter if the members of the band are boys or girls, but there are not many bands where so many of the members are girls so I thought some of you might be interested. They played some kind of punk music (isnt it obvious?). I listened to a couple of songs in front of the stage, but because I didnt really like em I went to sit next to the distro.
The next band was NEUROOTTISET PELIMANNIT. The guys in the band are almost young as I am, and it seemed that they were really playing with their hearts. They played classic chaos punk stuff, but they were A LOT better than Kaaos.(legendary chaos punk band from Finland) They covered Rattuss Sotahullut and so I gave some sing-a-longs. Good band.
OFFICER DOWN was a blast! OD is quite a new band and it was never heard by me before, but my friend Ville said that this band could be great. And so it was! The band describes their music as grindcore mixed with hardcore. I dont know, but whatever it is, it sounded great! ODs set was the only one I went into pit for. I couldnt miss the chance. They played a really energetic set and covered mlauts We Dont Give A Fuck and once again I went to give sing-a-longs. I would like to write more about this band, but I dont really know what, except that they were a total surprise and they played really well. Check out their mp3s etc here: www.officerdown.tk
Officer Down was the best band of the night with UNKIND who played next. I thought I would go to say hi to their guitarist, Tommi, because he linked our web page, but I didnt see him anywhere after the gig Unkind played really well, maybe little bit metallic hardcore punk. The singer was good, he has enough of a pissed off voice, you know what I mean. Guitar player, Tommi, did a lot of the vocal parts too and it sounded great. Great job! I just regret not buying their CD. Well, I have to get it later.
The last band was Finnish hardcore legend VALSE TRISTE. They have a really unique sound and played really well. VT have two singers and especially Wasky has a funny voice when he sings. And that is a good thing. Speeches between songs were really funny. I wont write any examples (why you werent you there to hear em?), but they were funny. Its cool to see that the old bands keep going and dont split up.
All in all that was a good show and of course I have to go to Rampa Rock next year again.
