R.A.M.B.O. + Manifesto Jukebox + The Stakeout @ Lutakko, Jyvskyl Friday 14.2.03

By Tuomas Koskinen

Juhani, Aku, Tatu, and I got to my car. Tatu put an Iron Maiden cassette in the player. We went to get Hilja to bring her with us. Then we drove to Lutakko.

We were there really early because I had an interview scheduled with The Stakeout. There were many records because Combat Rock Industry's distro and some distro that came with RAMBO was there.

So after the interview I went to buy a pile of records, a RAMBO tee shirt and a zine and said hi to some mates.

Then we waited for the first band to start. The Stakeout played first and they did a very energetic set. Good Minor Threat kind of old school hardcore stuff. In theory they are band I should love. I mean they should be better in my opinion than they are. But still The Stakeout without a doubt is a very good band that kicks ass.

Then there was an intermission. I spent time looking at records, thought I would buy something and so I did.

Then it was Manifesto Jukebox's turn. I was surprised when Ville Anger played bass. I knew that MJ had a new bassist and their old bass player moved to play guitar, but I wouldn't have thought it was Anger. They played a good set, but I'm not really into MJ's stuff. They're songs are emotional punk rock. But it was great to hear my favorite song: "Our New Lenins."

Second intermission and

Then the stage was RAMBO's!!!! They played most of the songs from their album "Wall Of Death The System" and it was a blast! When they played couple of songs, from behind the stage came a MOSHING MACHINE! It was made of cardboard boxes. Very soon it got smashed in the pit. We had a really good pit. There were maybe 10 guys in it. Somewhere at the show a guy named Nahka went on stage. RAMBO's drummer had a leg injury and the drummer yelled for obvious reasons to Nahka: "If you touch him I'm gonna kick your ass!" Then the singer of RAMBO said "You can come up here on stage to jam with us but don't touch our bass player because he has a leg injury" Then climbed up on stage too... Usually the bouncers won't allow stage diving, but this time they didn't do anything. I didn't dive because I had on my glasses (or maybe because I'm a coward hahahaha). Then the singer dived in the pit too. RAMBO played a great gig and I'm pleased to see them again.

My car's windows were frozen so when the windows melted we went to home...
