Downsided is without a doubt one of the best zines in Finlan with along Palokka-zine. It includes all of the stuff zine needs: reviews, interviews, and columns.
Downsided is concentrated mostly on thrash hardcore and other kinds of hardcore so there's no emo or oi!-stuff.
This time we have interviews with Rytmihiri, Out Cold, Strong Intention, Haymaker, and G.I.S.M. One thing I like about Downsided is that there are interviews with bands I've never heard of, but they sound good. This time the band interviewed was Haymaker. It was also nice to read the Out Cold review. All interviews are good and there's always something more than "What's your line up?", "Why do you play hardcore?" etc. Another very interesting article/interview was about the scene in Australia. It's always interesting to read about scenes all over the world.
There are many columns and they are good. Editor, Toni Eiskonen, wrote an interesting column about his appendix removal. Also Henke L.'s column about DIY is good.
The zine has three review sections: demos, records, and zines. It's easy to read and they are personal opinions, not just telling what kind of music it is and mention stuff like:"I guess this one was maybe good."
The zine also looks good. The text is easy to read and there are enough pictures. I mean that this is not a picture magazine, but there are pictures of bands etc.. Yyou get the point.
You can order this zine, read old issues, etc. here: www.thrashandburn.net. It may give you a better picture about what Downsided is about than my description.
