MEGA SUMMER EVENT!!!
"A YEARLY F.A.C.E. SUMMER GATHERING"

The Filipino Association for Computer Excellence (FACE) is once again organizing the ANNUAL APPRECIATION DAY for all its members and trainers. It will be held on Friday, the 18th of June 2004 at the Ajman Beach Hotel from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

In lieu, all are requested to please coordinate with your respective local coordinators to register your attendance not later than 9 June, 2004.

Highlighting the big event will be the following activities:

  • Workshop on Wireless Networking.
  • Recognition of achievements for all trainers and members.
  • Chance to meet and acquaint with other members of FACE from Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Khorfakkan, Fujairah, Ajman, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.
  • Have Breakfast and Lunch together. Game thrills and other funfilled excitements will envelop the whole day affair. A registration fee of ten dirhams upon entrance will be used to shoulder for the big Raffle Draws and loads of games prizes and surprizes. Everyone will really have so much fun both indoor and outdoor!

In FACE Graduation Rites

25 OFWs Honored in Khorfakkan

The Filipino Association For Computer Excellence (FACE) Khorfakkan Chapter honored 25 OFWs during its Graduation Ceremonies for PC Assembly Batch 2 and PC Networking Batch 1 at the rooftop (round tower) of Oceanic View Hotel on 3 June 2004.

The occasion was attended by the Director of Khorfakkan Hospital, Dr. Khalifa Saif Obaid, Labor Attaché, Atty. Vic Cabe and his wife, Chelsea, Mr. Tino Arciga Sr., FACE 1st VP along with some FACE Officers & members namely Sonny Castillo, Sally Shah, Lani Villanueva, Richard de la Cruz and Vic Candilanza. Lecturers and Trainers in the Area were also present as well.

Breaking down the total number of graduates being honored, Area Course Coordinator Mr. Edmundo Moreno proclaimed 10 graduates for PC Assembly and 15 graduates for PC Networking.

Ms. Armida Mabeza, a graduate in PC Networking, was declared as the Most Outstanding Student for topping her class and for having topped in both Written and Actual Exams.

In her speech, “Connecting computers together to share information has long been one of the most difficult areas of basic computing. But with the help of the Filipino Association for Computer Excellence, our knowledge is now upgraded and therefore have prepared us better for the computer world.”

Ms. Mabeza further added, “And for that, I would like to personally, on behalf of all the graduates, acknowledge our deepest and sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the instructors and trainers of FACE for their hardworks, perseverance, and for taking their precious time to share their knowledge and expertise to us. We are therefore very lucky and privileged to have FACE outreach projects here in Khorfakkan.”

Other declared outstanding graduates in PC Networking were Aina Maria Adipen, Ma. Genoveva Fabian, Cheryl Vargas and Rico Cervantes, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th places respectively.

Meanwhile in PC Assembly, declared Outstanding graduates (from 1st to 5th places respectively) were Rodel Santos, Jose Rey Siason (was also declared Best in Written Exam), Remigio Olmedo (also Best in Actual Exam), Nenith Basalo and Rhodora Medina.

During her speech in the message from the graduates for PC Assembly, graduate Ms. Saturnina Williams, was very overwhelmed by the new knowledge and skill she found. She exclaimed, “Now that I already know how to assemble my PC, no one could anymore cheat me in the future when the PC goes on troubles! Indeed, this is really great! Thank you so much to FACE for making us skilled and strong OFWs!”

Also awarded during the night for their contribution on the success of the upgrading courses were, Area Course Coordinator, Mr. Ed Moreno and his ever supportive wife Laurena, and all the lecturers and trainers in Khorfakkan.
