A Tribute in Honor of:
Steven Wendell Berghuis
Steven was born on 09 October 1986 and was taken from us on 05 June 2001. He fought leukemia for more than 11 years but he lost his fight. His parents and brother, Leslie, Wendell, and Austin, never stopped fighting to save Steven's life; they never gave up hope that Steven would be cured. Steven loved his family more than life itself. And although the cancer took his body it did not take his soul and he lives, as loved ones do, deeply within our hearts.

Steven's long and painful struggle has ended but the fight against his horrible disease continues. There are always ways that people can help; whether it is prayer, monetary contributions, or personal physical efforts, there are immeasurable ways to help. In the words of Clay Walker, "Don't let the chain of love end with you." Please help.

Our Hero and our Angel, Steven (Steven's 8th grade graduation from Camerado Springs Middle School, two weeks before he left us)
"Last night I had a crazy dream....a wish was granted just for me...it could be for anything...I didn't ask for money, or a mansion in Malibu...I simply wished for one more day with you..." (Diamond Rio)

"...I'll make a wish for you...and hope it will come true...That life will just be kind....to such a gentle mind...And if you lose your way, think back on yesterday......remember me this way, remember me this way..." (Theme from Casper)

"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, that's all who ever have.(Margaret Mead)

"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them. LEST WE FORGET." (author unknown)
