The Options page allows you to configure some CacheMaster settings to your specific tastes.
The Set Tray Icon allows you to select what the CacheMaster system tray monitor displays when you run it. You can also change this setting by right-clicking the tray icon and choosing the desired setting from the menu. These settings correspond to the status gauges on the Status page, so you can keep a contant eye on things like your memory usage or processor load.
The Set Gauge Refresh settings let you change how often CacheMaster and the tray monitor check your system status. The lower settings give a more accurate real-time display, but also cause your system to work a little harder to do so. Higher settings don't drain on your system as much, but don't give the most "up to the second" data either.
Then there's the aptly named Other Options. The first, Disable Splash, lets you turn off the pretty little splash screen that launches when you run CacheMaster.
The Keep On Top option forces CacheMaster to stay on top of all other windows, which is great for if you want to keep an eye on the status gauges while doing something else. If you always wanted to see just how much memory a program uses up when it runs, this is one way to do it.
Selecting Run in Tray is what activates the CacheMaster tray utility. Whenever you shut down CacheMaster, the tray utility will show up down by the clock and give you a real-time readout of system use. To restore CacheMaster, either right-click the tray icon to bring up a menu, or just double-click the icon.
The Load on Startup option cooincides with the tray utility. Selecting this option will launch the CacheMaster tray utility when Windows starts, saving you the effort of doing it manually.
The final option is Auto-Update Help. On each of these help pages you'll see a link toward the bottom saying "View Online Help". This takes you to the online help area of EasyCoolSoftware.com where you can view the most recent and up-to-date versions of these informative documents, and even get news of any program updates or bug reports. If the auto-update feature is selected, these updated help documents will be automatically downloaded to your local CacheMaster help folder for future offline viewing.
The last option is Restore Default Settings. To use, just select one of the two options and click the Restore button. The first option restores all your system settings to where they were before running CacheMaster, while the second restores them to the Windows default settings. You never have to worry about messing anything up, because with only a click of a button it's all back to the way it was. So rest easy and have fun experimenting with all the different settings.
