This is where you can find out the basics of how CacheMaster Pro operation. The particular settings CacheMaster uses are described in other parts of the help system.
As you've probably noticed, CacheMaster is arranged into 6 tabbed pages: Status, Cache, Tweaks, Tools, Options, and Help. For a quick tip on anything found on these pages, just place your mouse over the item and a short description will appear in the blue area at the top of the program.
The Status page shows some interesting information about your computer and it's status. The upper part of the page shows you some static information about your system, such as processor type and Windows version. Naturally you've probably already noticed this by now and so I'm wasting both our time telling you about it. The lower part of the page consists of some gauges which give you a real-time display of system status, allowing you to see some of the effects of the CacheMaster settings.
The Cache page is where you set up custom settings for your disk cache. Just set the sliders to the settings you want, and click Ok when you're ready to quit. Or, select a preset configuration from the dropdown menu. You can also add your own configuration just by typing it in the menu and clicking Add. To remove the cache settings you've selected and return control to Windows, just set the slider all the way to the left until the label says "Disabled". Not too tough, eh?
Next is the Tweaks page, which gives you all sorts of fun options to choose from. Just set the various sliders to the value you wish, or check the boxes by the options you desire. Then just click Ok when you're all done. It's that simple.
The Tools page has a couple more performance tweaks, plus a menu from which you can launch your favorite Windows utilities. Plus, you can add additional utilities by clicking the Add button and browsing for the program you wish to add. All your system tools are now only a click away!
The Options tab lists some CacheMaster Pro settings that you can set to your liking. See the options page for more information.
Finally, there's the Help tab. I find it hard to believe that you'd need help on the help tab. Actually, there is one nifty thing you may not have noticed. If you're browsing through these help documents and find yourself wishing you had a "Back" button, just right-click the window and see what pops up.
Thank you for using CacheMaster Pro.
