ACE Club
(established March 1, 2004)

Congratulations!

You are cordially invited - by invitation only - to join the Ace Club.  If you are intrigued and would like to participate then send us a request for membership.

The idea is that "players" in the Ace Club would put money into the pot and the first one to get a hole in one would win the money.

Here are the by-laws:

************************************************************************************************
Membership: pay flat amount per year which is easier to administer; membership is limited and subject to approval by the board of directors.  Any player wishing to petition the Board for membership must be sponsored by a current member.

$ Amount: $25 per year; it's enough to make it interesting without going broke and increase the likelihood that everyone will continue to contribute every year

Yardage:  110+ yards.  This is scorecard yardage for the tee you are playing and NOT actual yardage.  Example: you are on a par 3 110 yard hole with an upfront pin placement; the yardage could actually be only 95 yards but you would qualify.

Witness: Need to have at least one verifiable witness AND we need to have them sign the scorecard; you'll also need to report it to the clubhouse pro.

Hole-in-one: A player hits a hole-in-one we establish a new pot immediately AND everyone is considered "in" until 30 days after non-payment.  (Think about it-- if you happen to finally hit a hole-in-one and then find out that someone made one the day before you want something for your feat!)  Note:  if there are 2 hole in one's in a calendar year your financial commitment is $75.

Subsequent Years:  If a player wishes to join in a subsequent year then they must pay in $25 for every year "in the pot". Example, Tiger Woods decides to play golf with us next year and he wants to join the Ace Club. He must pay in $50 that first year.

Cutoff Date:  If a member of the club fails to "ante up" before a specific date (TBD) then any ACE they make does not win the pot. Example, we decide the cutoff date is January 31st of every year and Tiger hits a hole in one on February 14th he does NOT win the pot.

Honor Code: Golf is a game of honor and all membership is expected to exhibit the highest of ethical conduct.  If two or more people conspire to report a bogus ace the penalty shall be harsh and swift.  No, your life is not in danger, however, you do forfeit your membership and proceeds.

Special Notes:

If a player decides to leave the Ace Club their money stays in the pot. Non-refundable.
Ace Club years will be on a calendar year basis.
If you are the last one standing (everyone has either withdrawn from the club or passed on) you collect.
