the tidy ups
Somehow I knew that Jenny Westerlund of Funday Mornings was an incredibly talented girl, but when I heard that she had another band apart from Funday Mornings I couldn't even dream of them being as good. But believe me they are.

I will spare you another tape-in-the-mail story here, but I have to tell you about the excitement when I got the final recordings for their first EP.
I had been listening a lot to a pretty much non-produced demo from Tidy Ups and even though the sound wasn't too good I could easily spot the great songs and harmonies. I went to see them play in Stockholm winter 2003, and after one song I decided to ask them to do a 7" on my label. They said yes (as you might have figured out) and some months later I got six new songs in the mail. This time recorded in a proper studio with trumpets, harmony choruses etc.

I was so stunned that I listened to pretty much nothing else every day till I finally had to send the CD master to the Czechs to make the vinyl.

Great, fast pop songs! Excellent (and very easily lovable) lyrics! Harmonies! Bapapa! Trumpets! Handclaps! Any fan of Tiger Trap, Heavenly etc will not be aloud to miss this one out!
