NatSteel Broadway is an integrated contract manufacturer of plastic and metal components for consumer electronics, office automation, automotive electronics and telecommunication products. With corporate headquarters in Hong Kong and manufacturing based in southern China, the Group serves multinational customers worldwide. It is the largest contract manufacturer in southern China with operations in 6 locations.
The NatSteel Broadway alliance was formed in 1992 when NatSteel, a diversified Singapore conglomerate, acquired a 65 percent stake in Broadway Industrial Co Ltd (BICL). BICL's corporate headquarters are located in Hong Kong while its manufacturing facilities are based in Shenzhen and in Guangdong Province in China.
The Group is principally engaged in the design and fabrication of plastic injection moulds and metal dies, the manufacture of plastic and metal components, and the assembly of consumer electronics, telecommunications, automotive electronics and office automation products. The principal activity of the Company is that of an investment holding company.
The Company was incorporated in Singapore on 5 September 1996 under the name of NatSteel Broadway Pte Ltd. On 18 September 1996, the Company converted into a public limited company and changed its name to NatSteel Broadway Ltd.
65% owned by NatSteel and is the largest integrated contract manufacturer in South
China. FY00 turnover Plastic components 71.5%, assembly 16.8%, mould design and
Fabrication 11.7%.
1HF01 turnover grow 31% due to increased contracts, customers, and contributions from overseas units.Profit, however, fell 13% due to lower margin and under utilization of plant capacities. NatSteel Broadway said while revenue is expected to rise by 25%, FY01 earning to decline 35 due to severe margin erosion.
