The star apperances all started back in series one, when George Clooney and Noah Wyle appeared as two cute doctors who asked out Monica and Rachel. After that, everyone was dying to get on FRIENDS.

In series two, 'the one after the superbowl', there were four film greats making guest appearances. Julia Roberts played an old school 'friend' of Chandler, and ended up walking off with all of his clothes. Jean-Claude Van Damme guest starred as himself and managed to make Monica so jealous of Rachel for going out with him that we got to see Phoebe as ringmaster tearing the two apart. Chris Issak played some guitar with Phoebe whilst Brooke Shields was Joey's slightly crazy stalker.

One of the favourite guest stars has to be Tom Selleck who played Richard. Monica and Ross' parents best friend. He dated Monica until they split up leaving Monica weepy for more episodes than I can remember. He was back again for the series six finale, to tell Monica that he still loved her three years later. It turned out alright even though Richard didn't get the girl. We're all waiting for season seven and Monica and Chandler's wedding.
