This is the first tabless website that I've done without a template! I've integrated box elements into the three sections. Although I borrowed the intial css/html from About.com, I did quite a bit of code and editing on my own! OH what a wonderful day! I'm finished here, now I'm going to sit on my patio with my favorite beverage, and soak up some SUN!!!

An instructor was observing About.com's teaching methods on "Web Design/HTML". The instructor got into one of the forums and left a comment on one of the posts. Basically it inferred that designers need to learn programming languages like PHP, mysql, etc.. In my opinion a designer who knows basic computer language like css and xhtml, in conjuction with a photo editor, can find a niche' in "Web Design". One dosn't need to be a software applications programmer, or an administrative webmaster, to get started in the field of "Web Design"!

Something real important to the artistic phase of web design is photo layout. I have a software program that I need to install and start learning. Have you seen highdesertwanderer.com lately?,... It's really cool what he's done with his heading! Graphic designers have access to the equipment to do photo art,... I'll be checking in to Adobe Photoshop at a later date!!!

Computer language: "The term computer language is a more expansive and alternate term for the more commonly-used term programming language. Programming languages are a subset of computer languages, and so are other types of languages. For example, HTML is a markup language and a computer language, but not traditionally considered a programming language. Markup languages (e.g., HTML - typically used for producing documents). Some authors restrict the term "programming language" to those languages that can express all possible algorithms; sometimes the term "computer language" is used for more limited artificial languages. Non-computational languages, such as markup languages like HTML or formal grammars like BNF, are usually not considered programming languages. Often a programming language is embedded in the non-computational (host) language. Natural('human') language processors have been proposed as a way to eliminate the need for a specialized language for programming. However, this goal remains distant and its benefits are open to debate. Edsger Dijkstra took the position that the use of a formal language is essential to prevent the introduction of meaningless constructs, and dismissed natural language programming as "foolish." Alan Perlis was similarly dismissive of the idea.(Wikipedia)" Personally I'm not a script code writer,... With permission I use pre-generated xhtml and css in my designs, which I alter to fit my ideas! In other words it's like being able to read and edit a human language, but unable to write a story using the language!

The best URL for "rounded corners" that I've found is: http://webdesign.about.com/od/css/a/aa072406.htm. The div code length is about the same as: http://www.spiffycorners.com/sc.php?sc=spiffy&bg=ffffff&fg=0a67e6, but the css is shorter, just remember your style tags, before and after the inhead css! The novel flash heading from:http://www.voidix.com/, is only one of the many resources you'll find at their site! Also the sound effect is generated by: http://www.htmlbasix.com/generators.shtml http://pammyswavs.com/!

I've always been creative, but unable to follow through in a "World Class" way. I'm sorry to say it may be that way with Web Design, as I may never achieve a "State of the Art" level. As I age I am loosing interest and motivation, and really have to force myself to work at anything;... Especially if it's not for profit!

I can't afford "Adobe Flash", but I found this free site: Voidix , where you can build a "Flash" website! So far I've been unable to get the "main page" to load, but I've found a way to incorporate the "intro" into my website! Also dunc at: dunc informed me of this site: Swish This "flash" software program seems interesting, and is less than $100.00!
