WILLIAMS - BMW
Patrick Head has something of a reputation around the paddock as being something of a dragon. Anyone who watched the 2001 F1 video review would know that when things don't go his way in races, or when the drivers don't do as they're told you run an hide. Nobody knows what is said by him after races, but it's hard to imagine that it would have been much fun being Juan-Pablo after Canada and Monaco, or Ralf after Silverstone. We would rather face Alex Ferguson after scoring an own goal. Patrick in one scary man.

Williams though have always had this kind of approach and it's been amazingly successful. They've won championships and many many races. Despite a  bit of a drought between 1997 and San Marino 2001 Williams are now back to their usual state of ruthless effiency and their 2002 car will probably have the potential to be a champion. We hope it's good, it makes things more interesting.

They probably have at the moment the best driver pairing on the grid. Ralf Schumacher on his day is as good as his brother and Juan although still learning is showing all the signs of being a true champion. We would imagine them sticking with this pairing for the next few years although as we write this we're hearing that Ferrari have made an approach for JPM. We're not convinced. Somehow we doubt Michael would like him in the team. Far too much of a threat.

With two such good quality drivers Williams may well win the constructors championship in 2002, as Ferrari only have one driver who is a serious challenger, and McLaren's car won't be good enough and Kimi isn't ready.

We hope they do well as they're expected too. 2001 was too easy for Ferrari and Williams need to do something in order to stop a fourth consecutive constructors championship going to Maranello.
